The Amazing Spider-Man RUMOR: Zac Efron as new Peter Parker/Spider-Man???

Ugh... Okay, I wouldn't complain if it was true, but I would've definitely picked someone else...

i would'nt complain Zach is very underrated people just flip out when they see hsm on his resume same people who flip out over Blake Lively b/c of gossip girl

Smells like BS. Getting a 9 million pay check on an 80 million budget? Doesn't ring true...

If this is true, then I LOL at all the pro-rebooters, Who wanted this to be perfect.

It's not though.

:dry:

Well, I laugh at the trolls because this is what they may get, but feel bad at the people who were okay with the reboot.

Raimi/Tobey combo was the way it was meant to be, and Sony ****ed it.

As much as I wouldn't mind him in the role, the articles seem sketchy.

True or false I'm still glad tobey and sam are out. Last movie was lame and the first two were just average. I still have high hopes for the reboot, the director is great(recently saw 500 days of summer and it was excellent). As for this zac.....apparently he can really act....he is supposed to be brilliant in that orsen wells thing.

AHAHAHAHAHA!! This is GREAT! :funny:

But seriously, that sucks man. That sucks HARD if it's true.

Can we stop the bull **** already? Not even going to read the sources. Close the thread until Ziskin/Arad/Webb confirm.

I doubt he'd even except a 9 million pay check anymore. I'm smelling BS on this.

Lol! they're saying that Hudgens is also considered for the MJ role.... Can these sources be trusted? you tell me......

This smells like fish dipped in bull****

Maybe i'm wrong but the link says also that:
- The Studio is Universal Pictures;
- Tobey Maguire has leave Spider-Man 4 last year;
- Vanessa Hudgens is in run for Mj;
- Tobey Maguire will play Bilbo Beggins in "Hobbit" movie...

:doh:

Well the kid can act if you see him in other movies from high school musical.

Oh, **** no.

Edit: And why does the thread title say official? It's just a crappy rumor so far.

well it's not actually confirmed that the budget will be eighty million. It's no more or less confirmed than this rumour about Efron actually.

I'll wait until I hear something from Arad or Ziskin. If this is true, then it's extremely disappointing.

Okay. First of all, I respect Zac Efron a hell of a lot. I think that he's got a great future ahead of him. If you don't believe it, look up his 'Saturday Night Live' performance. Go see 'Me and Orson Welles'. Hell, go see '17 Again'. The guy's got a hell of a lot of charisma. However, I don't feel he's the right guy to play Peter Parker/Spider-Man. Peter Parker shouldn't be a good-looking guy when you stick a pair of glasses on him. He should look like a semi-nerd. Watch the new 'Kick-Ass' trailer. Peter Parker should be like Aaron Johnson from the 'Kick-Ass' trailer. Peter Parker should be (pretty much) invisible to girls. If they're going to try to play that up with Zac Efron. It's not going to work, and people will hate it. I kinda doubt that this is truthful news. But, if it is, Sony Pictures has made a huge tactical-error. This film will flop if it has Zac Efron as the lead because fans will immediately think of 'High School Musical' and the majority of teenage-girls wouldn't want to see Zac star in a comic-book movie. It's not his time yet.

Hiring a pretty boy like Efron and sticking glasses on him won't cut it. The actor needs to have that nerdiness and look invisible. Glasses come off, he's more confident. You need an actor who can play both.
