That's great news! Feige being true to his word about female directors
Whoa, what the... this came out of nowhere.
Unfamiliar with her work, but I am sure she will do fine
Glad to see this moving along. I'm starting to wonder if Black Widow, Dr Strange 2 and the Eternals will now be the 3 MCU movies of 2020 and Guardians 3 now in 2021
Starting to look that way.
Really happy about this part, MCU needs a good love story. Romance has been somewhat left behind in phase 3.
I'm curious which dates each one gets
I have never heard of her before. Seems like Feige is serious about fast-tracking this movie. I'd prefer he pushed for Fantastic Four, but maybe he can't do anything until the deal is finalised.
That I think is a bingo. He can't officially date a movie that they don't own yet. Not until it is official.
I imagine they want to get this out before Ava's New Gods movie to avoid the inevitable comparisons. Even though they are Marvel and have a better track record than DC, this project seems even more out there than a Guardians movie.
What New Gods movie is there? Is that in the works and is it actually greenlit? Ava who?
i wouldnt be surprised if Eternals replaces guardians 3 in 2020. They need to start filming early nexy year tho if they want to make may 2020.
The girl who directed A Wrinkle in Time. She is working on a New Gods film for DC. Last I heard, I don't think it has an official release date.
I don't think they are eyeing Eternals for May. That's either going to be Black Widow or Doctor Strange 2 being bumped up I think. Eternals I am seeing as their 3rd movie that year. But this is just my guess.
Think Eternals can also set the stage for X-Men later on, and dovetails very well with Infinity War (Thanos). The perfect 'next step' in the MCU, especially since Feige has stated that they want to take the next phase more 'cosmic' i.e GOTG, Captain Marvel. With Gunn, who was meant to lead that charge, out of the equation they will need more cosmic franchises to lead the next phase and dovetail with Captain Marvel... leaves room for Fantastic 4 and X-Men! I'm sure Feige and co. have plans way into the future. Exciting times!
What does Feige find more interesting about the Eternals that he didn't about the Inhumans? The Inhumans could've been a potential film franchise. Their characters are more well known too. Now they're consigned to the rubbish dump after Scott Buck worked his magic on the Royal Family, and others showed up in every other episode of Agents of SHIELD as faux mutants.
Interesting theory, but nothing concrete really. But I do think elements of the MCU GotG3 was going to set-up will be used in Eternals.
You're seriously overestimating the amount of people who knew or cared about the Inhumans even before the TV show.
the tv side has really screwed up the MCU. Feige should just retcon and declare all existing tv shows non-MCU canon. or maybe in an 'adjuct universe' as Amy Pascal would say
GOTG3 would have been great intro to Eternals, i hope it still goes forward without Gunn. A4 would be great place to tie in Eternals w/ Thanos, then GOTG goes in more depth before the Eternals solo
I don't agree that the shows really messed anything up, with the exception of Inhumans. Otherwise, the shows are harmless and have been largely decent (some better than others). But nothing in them has ruined the movies really at all. They're just an added bonus for fans. They're fine.
Seriously, people barely know The Inhumans.
