Runtime confirmed by Fox: 92 minutes!

........................ Will we find out for sure before the movie comes out?

I just saw this on an official Fox site:

BTW the rating is the UK rating!

NO COMMENT EXCEPT, WTF ? :cmad:

98 minutes excluding ending credits and trailers. I clocked it with a stopwatch.

Great...so this one, with the surfer, Galactus, Doom, plus Reed & Sue's wedding to boot, is shorter :csad:

Wonder how much Fox will have conveniently edited out time? (footage that will no doubt avoid hitting the cutting room floor and will turn up in an extended version down the line...).

As i've said, the negative always pans out to be true with Fox. Bet it won't be a press screening.

Well for crying out loud. I mean X-Men 2 was 144 minutes. The 1st one was as long as FF. I expected the sequel to run along those same lines, not shorter.

Sorry for the bad news. :meow:

Not your fault. Your not the idiots down at Fox. Lets hope it is a typo, or I have a felling there will be a backlash from the faithfull. There will deff be a backlash from me. I saw the 1st one 9 times, at 7.50 a pop. If this is indeed true, and this runtime is true, depending on how the movie is, I may go see it once. I hope someone at Fox is reading this. THERE WILL BE A BACKLASH.

So great--we're in Shrek territory. :down This is beyond dissapointing.

Why they don't want their films to breathe is beyond me.

This short time does not bode well for the quality of the film. i suspect the film has been chopped uped pretty bad.

Lightning,

I rented it from my local video store yesterday....

...if you know the right places in LA, you can get this stuff early.

Was it a legit copy you got early or pirated???

And you people wonder why studios have to cut corners as their costs increase dramatically from people supporting piracy.

Can't figure this out for the life of me except pure greed. Everything was so positive, and upbeat. Then they come out with an ocean full of water, and dampen the expectations.

Piracy! Shame on you!! :down

Not really...little mom&pop video stores know they can't compete with the blockbusters on every corner...movies are delivered to rental stores usually 4-5 days before the Tuesday street dates...technically if nobody complains, especially Loss Prevention jerks from the bigger retail stores, they don't get in trouble for renting it out. How they conceal this without reporting its revenue...thats a practice I'm unaware of...but I'm sure its under the table....or they don't report it as being rented untill its street date. Makes sense.

Although I think movies are getting too long for the most part (i'm looking at you At Worlds End) that sounds way too short a run time for my taste. Man I'm starting to be majorly turned off from this film, it seems like it's going to be worse than the first one and that wasn't a good movie to begin with. Boo I say, BOO! Maybe I'll catch it in the dollar theaters like I did SR and X3. I wish I would have waited to see SM3 because it damn sure wasn't worth 6.50.

Damn-it FOX, you sons a b****'s. Why you would want your own products to fail is beyond me.

The only possible reason I can think of is they have so little faith in the product they want as many screenings as is humanly possible in as short a time as is humanly possible: Go for that quick buck rather than take a chance that an extended version might have some legs.

Now the film might well be very good and do just fine if the producers showed some spine and allowed the film to run at a time that suits the scope of it's content (and for this story near 2 hours would suit), but cutting it up to fit a pre-requisite 'magic' time slot does usually result in the kind of mess that was the first film, with plot holes the size of Galactus' anus (Doom's business going bust for no clear reason, stealing from himself, etc) and characters so lightweight you wonder why they even bothered putting them in there at all (Alicia).
