The Amazing Spider-Man Runtime

This isn't true. Marc Webb said the movie is around 2 hours long. People need to drop this.

If the movie flows well, 90 minutes is fine with me.

The guys behind X-Men: Last Stand said the movie was over 2 hours...and it wasn't.

Either way, we aren't sure what the runtime is. One site says 2 hours, another says 91 minutes.

As long as it doesn't feel rushed or overly dragged on I'm good with it, but obviously I'd like it to be amazing as long as possible.

There were reports that the production was chaotic, no such thing on Spidey, everything SEEMS to have gone smoothly. No worries there.

That's exactly what we needed...a separate thread to debate the run time of the movie. :o

True, it's definitely the most important thing that the movie is cut tight and feels good in the end. If it is, and 90 minutes, I will be satisfied.

But given Webb said 2 hours in previous interviews, I am worried that his edit might be cut town by studio execs. Just hoping that's not the case.

I'll wait for official runtime before getting too panicky.

He even referenced the website saying it was a hour and a half and laughed about it.

I think we can close this thread and stop b****ing about this now.

Question: There’s a rumored running time. Has a final cut been locked?

Marc Webb: Yeah, it’s right around two hours, so I don’t know… There was something on some website that said an hour and thirty minutes or something like that?

Question: Yeah.

Marc Webb: No. (Laughs) Every once in a while it’s really interesting, because you hear people talk about information that gets out and you’re like “Oh yeah, I’m sure there’s some truth to it,” but sometimes things come up and you’re like “What are you talking about?” That’s one of those things. I don’t know where that came from. So it’s not, and the cut is pretty much locked, we are just doing a lot of visual effects.

I do hope it's at least 2 hrs!

Webb confirms a running time just "around 2 hours"... Is that cutting it a tad short maybe??? Even a running time of 2:10 would've seemed much better. I hope they make the absolute best use of the time than! I hate movies that are rushing it.

As long as the story isn't rushed and the character development is spot on, I'm not that worried.

Pointless thread is pointless.

And...my pointless post is pointless.

Did anyone complain when Spider-Man clocked in under two hours?

I believe many might have if it clocked in at one and a half.

But hopefully the point is moot. With Webb saying repeatedly the running time is right around 2 hours, if it's significantly less, something bad will be afoot.

Webb confirmed a two hour cut. I'm sure it'll be fine.

2 hours and 15 minutes would be great.
I don't think the actual time matters that much to me though. I watched Captain America for the first time last weekend, and even though it was 2 hours and 2 minutes, it still felt really short. It is probably more important that the pacing is right

Totally agree, the actual minutes isn't the real factor, the degree and execution of storytelling is. But I couldn't help but feel 1.5 hours would be a rush job and unsatisfying. Webb's assurances that it would be around 2 hours made me feel much better, and if indeed 2 hours and 15 minutes is the official runtime, it would at least be ample time to tell a good story. Hope being that that's what Webb and company do!

I hope that too. We won't get another movie in two years, so when I am at the theater, I am not going to want it to end quickly

So the movie is longer than all the Raimi films (even Spidey 2.1), except for SM3, which is longer by 3 minutes.
