Gosling directorial debut featuring Hendricks as a mother who discovers a dark fantasy underworld while her teenage son discovers a secret road into an underwater town.

I am perfectly fine with Hendricks finally getting some kind of lead.

Fantasy+ Gosling+Hendricks in damp situations????

I'm totally there :awesome:

The Gos never stops.

I love Christina and Ryan and the plot sounds interesting, hope it's a good film.

Ryan Gosling seems to be making a lot of smart, interesting career moves that are paying off. He also is avoiding most of the typical popcorn genre **** actors of his type go for. He's kind of like the anti-Channing Tatum IMHO.

You mean he's avoiding box-office successes that are getting good reviews?

To be fair, that's only two movies. It could truly be a sign that Tatum is picking better projects (and is improving as an actor in general) but Tatum also has plenty of financial and/or critical bombs under his belt.

Well, Gosling in a directorial debut sounds very interesting as a start. Christina Hendricks The Goddess in a lead (which I think I've never seen before) makes me sold.

I mean, IF it should turn out bad it's at least a movie featuring Christina Hendricks.

is hendricks any good i see tons of love for her but speaking like 2 lines and getting executed in drive i guess is'nt where i should judge her acting talent lol

Never seen Mad Men? Especially this last season?

Mendelsohn Joins Gosling's "Monster"

By Garth Franklin Friday November 23rd 2012 07:41AM
Ben Mendelsohn is set to join Christina Hendricks in Ryan Gosling’s directorial debut "How to Catch a Monster."
Described as a dark fairytale, Hendricks plays a mother of two sons, one of whom discovers a secret underwater town. With mother in tow, young Bones enters the dark, macabre place he’s stumbled upon.
Mendelsohn worked with Gosling on the upcoming "The Place Beyond the Pines." Shooting on 'Monster' kicks off in May.

Eva Mendes and Matt Smith are also on board.
This sounds interesting.
Has anyone got the script? People on IMDb have it, but I can't reply on those forums, as I don't get any authentification messages...

The title of this film has been changed to "Lost River."

It is set to premiere at Cannes.

Also, finally some details. http://thefilmstage.com/news/first-...torial-debut-lost-river-premiering-at-cannes/

Iain De Caestecker character is named "Bones." Saorise Ronan plays "Rat." What is the deal with these names?

Description:

Set against the surreal dreamscape of a vanishing city, BILLY, a single mother of two, is swept into a macabre and dark fantasy underworld while BONES, her eighteen-year-old son, discovers a secret road leading to an underwater town. Both Billy and Bones must dive deep into the mystery, if their family is to survive.
