Ryan Reynolds to take on Clue reboot

The original is a good little movie. Not the greatest comedy ever, but solid and a bit of a throwback while being of it's time. I always felt it had a mix of 40/50's screwball comedy mixed with the sensibilities of the late 70/early 80's comedies like ANIMAL HOUSE, STRIPES, CADDY SHACK or STRANGE BREW. What I think puts it over the top are the multiple endings in keeping with it's game origin and of course the amazing work Tim Curry does in the final act. Curry in general holds the proceedings together and that is saying something given the cast he was surrounded by.

Could a new adaptation work?

Maybe. Getting a Reynolds involved is a good start.

Man, Ryan Reynolds and Rhett Reese & Paul Wernick are a great team. Life was another very solid genre pic, so I fully trust them with this. Cool to see that Reynolds is back on top (toldja!), and that his production company is called Maximum Effort!

The original Clue worked well because they were a bunch of character actors. I hope they keep that same idea and have Reynold’s role be a minor role. I mean you can put him in all the marketing to sell the thing but he shouldn’t be the lead.

Yeah, that was the old movie. Trying to replicate what they did back then is useless. And Ryan Reynolds is incredibly underrated.

We call the game Cludeo down here.

Ryan Reynolds working with Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick once again?! I'm in!!

It's funny this is happening now. It would never happen but I saw someone on twitter suggested Shawn Mendes as a gender swapped Yvette and I haven't been able to get it out of my head since

Well that should be fun.

Reynolds as Green, Bateman in the Curry part?

The original is a masterpiece. But sure, I'm up for this.

It’s quite amusing that my first inclination was that Reynolds is going to be playing Mr. Green as well.

I feel like they should change it up. The movie is a classic and they shouldn’t try to copy it. Go in a different direction with the characters. Maybe Mr. Green is the killer this time. Maybe there is no Wadsworth, since he’s not actually in the game.

I will allow it if Jessica Walter plays Mrs White

I see her much more as a Peacock myself.

Will Ferrell as a surprise cameo ala Howard Hessman's Chief in the '85 film.

My work here is done now.

Reynolds as Green, Bateman in the Curry part?
Reynolds as Green, for sure, if we're going by the '85 archetypes. I don't really see Bateman as Wadsworth, more like Plum, if you ask me. Reynolds is working with Taika on "Free Guy", now HE is someone who could fill Curry's shoes.

The interesting thing is that there have been so many different takes on the characters (and alternative subjects) over the years. Assuming Hasbro will be involved in the licensing, I'd expect them to request the inclusion of Dr. Orchid, given she is featured in the currently sold version of the board game. If nothing else, I'd like to see Green as a Reverand again.
