What are their chances of being introduced in this movie?

Negligible. It doesn't take place much on Earth, and SWORD as some kind of independent agency would be rather pointless and redundant. "Dealing with aliens" is part of SHIELD's purview, no need to add another agency that is "just like SHIELD, doing something SHIELD does, but with a different name".

SWORD is a branch of SHIELD...
I wasn't implying I would want it developed independently from SHIELD, whereas Coulson has level 7 clearance this is just a place that would be level 20.

Anyways I guess the film has enough to balance as it is, but I wouldn't count out SWORD, might even introduce them on the AoS show.

the movie is set mostly in space, so the stuff on earth is probably just quill's origin. so no i don't think they will show S.W.O.R.D.

Oh, I thought SWORD had a station of sorts at the outskirts of our atmosphere.

Yeah, which is still Earth. The movie takes place in distant space.

They will have some connection to Earth since Quill is have Earthling. And they will probably end up traveling near Earth at least during their adventures.
And using SWORD, a division of SHIELD created because of Thor and Loki and the alien Invasion in New York, would be a way to tie it all together. Then have a SWORD agent, Carol Danvers, become Captain Marvel and you have the Avengers tied into GOTG.
SHIELD created because of Thor and Loki and the alien Invasion in New York:
Bruce Banner: I want to know why SHIELD is using the Tesseract to build weapons of mass destruction.
Nick Fury: Because of him!
[points at Thor]
Thor: Me?
Nick Fury: Last year, Earth had a visit from another planet that had a grudge match that leveled a small town. We learned that only are we not alone, but we are hopelessly, hilariously outgunned.
Thor: My people want nothing but peace with your planet!
Nick Fury: But you're not the only ones out there, are you? And you're not the only threat. The world is filling up with people that can't be matched, that can't be controlled!
Steve Rogers: Like you control the cube?

I think we will see S.W.O.R.D. eventually but probably not till after phase 3. My guess is when we see a Mrs Marvel solo we will get S.W.O.R.D.

I like the way you think Monkey Boy.

I think they would be mad not to include it.

Wonder if they'll be bold enough to make carol Danvers head of sword?

Isn't S.W.O.R.D. a X-Men Commodity? Dark Phoenix, Shi'ar empire and all?

So I look up S.W.O.R.D. on wiki, find out that it did indeed make it's first appearance in an X-Men book but then I look lower and see the following.

S.W.O.R.D. is mentioned in an alternate ending to Thor as Erik Selvig is briefly shown running simulations on wormholes using S.H.I.E.L.D. and S.W.O.R.D. data.

Unless they specifically removed it because it is tied to FOX franchising rights it gives me pretty good hope that it's only a matter of time before S.W.O.R.D. does cross over into the movies.

In response to Silvermoth, I was a big fan of A:EMH S.W.O.R.D. interpretation, it's actually the model of the organization as I have in my head and would like to see in the movies, so seeing Danvers included would be great, so long as I get my sexy green haired Brand as well!

I'd love a mention of the organization in AoS, but chances are Coulson doesn't have that sort of clearance.

Although sword started in xmen I would say they don't really belong to anyone thus belonging to marvel since the contracts where they sold the rights to other characters were signed before sword was created

Except that Fox clearly has the rights to characters created after the contract was signed ( various modern mutants ). Unless SWORD actually featured at least as prominently somewhere else than the X-comics, its safe to say they own it in all substantial ways.

( yes, AoS had a SWORD easter egg on a sign. . . but see the prior word 'easter egg' )
