It's come to my attention that we have plenty of threads for people who hate what Sam Raimi, Bryan Singer, et al. have done w/their beloved characters, where they can bash & ridicule the movies undefended. I think it's high time we had a strictly positive thread.

They've done a great job in trying to please old school fans, newer fans and the non comic book reading general public. You simply cannot please everybody but what the aforemention directors have done is try to do is translate the core and best aspects of these beloved characters and create in their opinion the best story centered around them.

I'm on board. I can't offer too much input, but I'd like to tag this to subscribe

Im DEFINITELY on board. Is there one of these in DC forums? (EDIT: nevermind, ill make one ;) )

But one thing is that we already have the board according to them... why would we make it look like we dont?

Comics and film are different entities and the film makers should have the rights to decide what makes it and doesnt. Many are wise folks despite what they say.

Like the idea of this thread. Although these films are far from being perfect, as an old school Marvel fan, I have enjoyed most of them for the most part. I'm onboard with this.

I'm loving what Raimi, MSJ, and Singer did for Spider-Man, Daredevil, and the X-Men. I am excited for how Favreau is approaching Iron Man. I am hating how 20th Century Fox is raping thier Marvel properties.

I am hoping that Marvel will eventually be big enough to buy back the X-Men and Fantastic Four from those bastards.

Count me in! With the sole exception of Man-Thing, i can honestly say that ive thoroughly enjoyed each and every Marvel movie thus far. ( i wasnt crazy about The Hulk when i saw it in the theater, but subsequent viewings on dvd have won me over big time!)...

I dont know, maybe im just easy to please, lol.

I'm in, I've really enjoyed the Marvel films up to this point, I like what I've heard from Jon Favreau on Iron Man and loved all three X-Men films.

I knew I could count on you.

So far most of the people whose support I was expecting are on board. Cool.

i'll only be an advocate to the hulk and bits and bobs of daredevil's directors cut.

Im on board. The X-Men films havent held up at all for me, but everything else gets better the more I watch them.

Chris Wallace, you´re a genius, this thread is a great idea, if the trolls have too many threads for bashing movies, it´s a great time to have this thread for talking about movies, in a positive way.:up::):)

I just thought we should have a counter to all the "Safe havens for those who demand more". Like the rest of us are mindless sheep or something.

Hulk is a marvel movie. You have to like Hulk or you're not allowed in here!

We can make an exception for Elektra, right? :o

I would prefer that at least SOME supporters of this thread like Hulk, FF & some of the other underdog movies.
I thought the first 10 minutes of Elektra was great.

Despite the fanboy internet dork hate nature of the internet, and despite the films flaws there were some really cool moments in Hulk, FF and DD. Not perfect but Hulk tossing the tank, Torch burning through NYC, and DD vs Elektra/Bullseye were some celluloid moments that gave whatever flaws those movies had redemption.

I think most of these fanatics dont give directors a reasonable way to please them and thats why they hate so much. About 5% is going to heed their complex rules. The rest are going to laugh lol Thats why i dont take anything they say seriously.

I actually like Elektra. The only Marvel movie that I hate with a passion is FF, but I'll let go of my feelings on that matter while in this thread.

EDIT: I forgot I also hate Blade 3, but I digress.

There's another way to define that; comic fans, fanboys, fanatics-whatever you wanna call them-are difficult to please b/c they grew up w/these characters. And they fell in love w/these characters for their own reasons. And that reason, above all, is what's most important to them. See, in their heads, they have written, cast, directed & shot every comic book movie that can ever be made, & are often unwilling to accept anyone else's vision. Hence the relentless nitpicking.

Speaking of the Hulk, which I liked extremely well, I pulled out the DVD and watched it again right after I'd seen SR in theaters. One thing that really struck me was just how strong and emotional the acting was in the Hulk. Bana gave a very strong performance as Dr. Banner.
