Safeway to Close 72 Dominick's Groceries in Chicagoland

Didn't go there.

S**t was too expensive.

Yup, we heard that complaint a lot.

I rarely heard of either of them.

I wouldn't expect a Chicago based store to be a typical topic of conversation in Canada. :oldrazz:

Well, what else they got to talk about? Hockey? Snow? Syrup? Pfft. :o

Jewel's is expensive as hell too.

I go to Food4Less.....cuz you know.....it's 4Less. :o

Yeah, there was a rumor that we might get bought by Food4Less, which is good and bad. Good cause then we have a job, bad cause the pay sucks.

There's a Dominick's a few blocks from me, if that closes then people in the neighborhood will have to look elsewhere to get food and there's not another grocery store close by.

Why are there 72 in the Chicago area? Or are they spread out but based in Chicago?

They are spread out across Chicago and the suburbs but nowhere else.

Yeah, for such a big city, Chicago is plagued with Food Desserts.

Used to go there with my grandpa as a kid when I'd stay over. Only been to Dominick's once or twice since he died. My parents go to Butera, Caputo's, Costco or Target, sometimes Jewel.

Seems like everyone's crazy about Mariano's.
