Stepping into “Saigon” I could sense where the Comedian and Dr. Manhattan would be standing. Without the association of that scene, I wouldn’t mind having a drink there, if only they were serving.

“Creepy House” was even more evocative, and actually disturbing. The work that went into making this place look run-down is astonishing, and yet any furniture and household fixtures had been removed here also. The front door is scrawled with a warning that some mean dogs live here, and the paw mark scratches on the walls and doors were, in a word, intense. We passed through the tiny, enclosed patch of grass serving as the yard, and there were still traces on the ground that suggested something bad really did happen here. Even in broad daylight, this place was unsettling.

We got the dog scene! I wonder if it will be recounted by Rorschach to Dr. Long, of if they are going to incorporate it some other way (I'm pretty certain that Dr. Long was cut out of all previous scripts)?

It would seem so - I'm really hoping we get at least some of the Long-Kovacs stuff. They could easily have the first section of that subplot as one scene (or two smaller scenes) and have the actual recollection(s) come in a later scene after switching to another story or two for a bit.

It could work

No Dr. Long would be so gay, but if the dog scene is in, I'm hoping he'll be in as well.

I can't imagine cutting Dr. Long entirely. I could see severely limiting his part, but I assume he has to at least be there for a bit. Certain scenes of his are integral to the plot, or are at least too good to be cut.

Creepy House...thats the serial killer's house, correct?

They didn't cut Dr. Long. His part is smaller, and not as relevant as it was in the comic, but he's there.

Good. That was one of the complaints I had with Snyder's script.

I seriously cant imagine cutting Dr. Long completely. I mean, someone has to introduce Rorschach's flashback sequence, and if not Dr. Long then who? I cant really see how one would rewrite that to not include at least a scene or two of Rorschach being interviewed, and it might as well be Dr. Long.

I've seen it rewritten to avoid Dr. Long. I've seen a WATCHMEN script where he didn't even go to prison. But no, Dr. Long seems to be along for the ride.
