The Amazing Spider-Man Sally Field in early talks for the role of Aunt May

If true, well that's another good choice. I like her, she's a good actress.

WTF it's Spider-Man casting overload!!! Now let's hear who's gonna be Norman Osborn (for the buildup!).

Im not gonna lie...I have no idea who this is

EDIT: Nvm she's FOrrest Gump's mom. Awesome

Oh I remember watching that and liking it when I was younger

I like this choice alot .

Another great piece of casting, if this comes to head!

It's about time IMO, seeing as we're only about a month away from filming beginning.

Who better to help raise Peter Parker than Forrest Gump's mom, eh? lol!

"Peter...life is like a box of chocolates...."

Damn, another good choice if true.

A bit left field, but in a good way, surprised no one ever considered her before in their dream castings; myself included.

My God, this fast? Not that I'm complaining, but I didn't expect to hear more casting for a week or so. But if they're shooting next month, it makes sense.

But this is great. Didn't someone suggest her a while back? I'd definitely be down with this.

I don't know. While I think she's a great actress,I've always liked the idea of having "unknowns" being cast in these sort of films. That way,you can see them as the characters they are playing rather than remembering them from other films,or previous work. I mean, instead of seeing Field as Aunt May,some might say,"Oh,hey. It's Forrest Gump's mom!"
When Tobey,Kirsten and Franco were cast, they were known actors, but not household names. Of course,it didn't hurt to have a major name in the mix(Dafoe).

She's the Ultimate Hollywood parental figure, in my eyes. She's always playing the mom, or whomever.

But she was pretty cute when she young:

So...much...awesome.......in one...day...

I'd say Andrew Garfield's a pretty big unknown, save for British fans and those who will remember him from The Social Network. It's no different than Superman, though: cast an unknown for the title role and get a big name like Marlon Brando to play a supporting character.
