During Comic-Con this weekend, the chainsaw began sputtering once again for Evil Dead 4. Director Sam Raimi, there promoting his comeback horror film, Drag Me To Hell, announced the return of Bruce Campbell’s Ash to fans…
“I love working with Bruce Campbell… He’s super willing to do anything to make it right. He’s a very funny guy, but mostly he’s got this quality where he will physically do anything to get the shot done right, so I would love to work with Bruce again because I’d love to test those limits.
I’d love to make another Evil Dead picture. And actually that’s in the wheelhouse. I’d like to work on it with my brother Ivan [Raimi] when he comes up next week.“
Next week! Wheelhouse! The last Evil Dead film, Army of Darkness, was released in 1992 but the mainstream wasn’t in on the cult bliss and it fizzled at the box office. The franchise has spawned countless DVDs ever since, as well as video games, the twice campy Evil Dead: The Musical and rumors like Freddy vs Jason vs Ash. Raimi has hinted at an Evil Dead 4 for years, and his brother’s involvement was previously discussed during the Spider-Man 3 press rounds.

I heart Bruce Campbell.
Oh dang..he's gonna have to get back into shape somehow....he's gained on the pounds with his role in Burn Notice (which he's fantastic in!)

Should be cool if this happens, i seem most of the evil dead films.

Him being a little overweight would make Evil Dead 4 all the funnier. :woot:

Yes! Oh sweet lord, yes! Raimi + teh Bruce=

As sad as I am to say it, Raimi loves to tease fans with this movie, create a whole fuss around the tease, and then just let it die down then repeat the process. I'll believe it when it starts filming.

Yeah when i see it on the screen i shall belive it ;)

I second that.......

It'd be kool IF it happens.

Watching the newest season of Burn Notice, I actually think Bruce has been getting slimer than he was in the first season and I think he might be a better actor now.

It's been mentioned so often that I don't belive I'll ever see it either. I'm still doubtful at this point.

I feel the same. I mean,he's been "working" on this film for years now.:whatever:

Oh give the guy a break, this is the first time he's been free for awhile now. Especially if Sony doesn't pick him for Spider-man 4, he'll finally have time to do more other things.

I won't have any expectations until Bruce and Sam says ''Yep it's going ahead, expect filming to begin on so and so date'' I'm too much of a fan to let myself build up expectations.

Bruce is so old and out of shape now. He's going to look terrible as Ash.

Same here.

why? Ash is Ash.... he doesnt have to be super buff or anything, he just needs his whit and charm

I think him being old and out of shape fits the character perfectly.

Really? I don't. I look at Ash as something of an action hero. That's the last thing I think about when I see Bruce Campbell.

Ash is totally not an action hero. He's a reluctant goofball hero who *****es and moans about everything. Him being out of shape, and adding that to his list of complaints, would only make the movie funnier, and therefore better.

I may be the only person in the world, but I didn't like anything past the first Evil Dead. I hated the campyness of 2 and 3. I'd actually prefer it to have a campy horror feel and not a campy dark comedy feel.
