You can buy an entire home theatre for that price, including an uhd tv.
Well if you can afford a TV like this, then most likely you have a room big enough to put it in. Besides, the rich just buy things that most people don't have and won't ever be able to afford. Plus, they simply buy things because they can.i just dont understand why this is needed
and by this i clearly mean a tv that big

However, there are people that love the latest and greatest technology so they have to have it. For example, I once worked at a place that sold the high-end audio/video equipment for home theaters and I had a customer that had more money than he knew what to do with. So once or twice a year, he would come in the store and I would grab a pen and paper and he would just start pointing at things that he wanted. So he would point out the TVs and the audio equipment. He would then task me with gathering all of the necessary cables to hook everything up. It would be nothing for him to spend $100,000 in one stop. He bought things for his family and some of his employees, just because he could. He only bought the best of the best for himself because he really enjoyed the technology and he knew that he had the means to buy it, so why not?! I once sold him a pair of $90,000 speakers. Yes, I said pair...as in 2. lol
I had heard about curved TVs but I don't see the point.
The commissions off that guy could pay off my student loans... with money to spare. You better have gotten commissions off of that.
You better believe I did. Needless to say, he was my best client. Too bad that company went under or I would probably still be there. Right before we closed, he came to me and said that he wanted me to design a high end home theater. I'm talking a dedicated room with a humongous screen, full automation, servers, etc. I then asked a stupid question of "what kind of budget" would he like to stay in? He looked at me and asked "Did you just seriously ask that question?" lol We both had a good laugh with that one. It took about a week to put together a full home theater for him and it was around the $2 million mark. He was about ready to pay for it all, then the rug got pulled from the company and I wasn't able to make the sale. I argued and argued with them, but they just wouldn't have it. I lost out on about $250,000 commissions from that sale alone. So yeah, I wasn't very happy. You better have gotten commissions off of that.
When you are talking about the kind of equipment that he got, the "cheap $4 ones" aren't going to cut it. There is high end equipment that need high end cables. So when it comes to the ultra high end stuff, you better believe they do better. I'm not talking about the $100 Monster speaker wire. I'm talking about the $5,000 AudioQuest 15 ft. speaker cable. You don't put regular unleaded into high end cars. You put the premium in because that's what the car needs. Same goes for high end audio and video equipment, because it does help the equipment perform the best. The commissions off that guy could pay off my student loans... with money to spare.
I do hope he got all the way over-priced cords that don't do any better than the cheap $4 ones.![]()
I was mostly joking. Depending on the wire and necessity, some of that is over-priced junk. A $4 HDMI cable will do the exact same thing as a $200 one will. Of course when it comes to some of those others like the audio it's probably better than just stringing some cheap cords. Most of it is still over-priced IMO.
