Samurai Jack Thread

For those who do not remember, Samurai Jack is the story of a samurai flung from his home of Feudal Japan into the far-off future by the demon Aku, who has since taken over the planet and spread his evil to other planets. Jack must find a way back to his time to defeat Aku once and for all, all while combating Akus' tyranny in the future to stay one step ahead.

I figured a show such as Samurai Jack deserved its own thread. Somewhere to come together to discuss & appreciate everything it was and talk about what could be done for it's revival or anything else that comes to mind.

Genndy still wants to do a Samurai Jack film. It's too bad CN screwed him over and he left for Sony. There's rumors that JJ Abrams Bad Robot company is making the film.

Anyway, the show is still very unique in that Jack doesn't talk a lot and many episodes have no speech at all. That's something very hard to pull off, but the action, set pieces, and music strengthen it.

Compared to most of their other shows, Samurai Jack was one of Genndys' more ambitious I feel. The tone, the story, fights, all of it. And for a kids show, it was a big deal for the time.

Adult Swim is reviving Samurai Jack with an all new season on their Toonami block next year. The original creator will be involved!

I loved SJ when it was on. The visuals were amazing and some of the episodes are my favorite in any animation. The whole black/white ninja fight was amazing.
