Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy are teaming to headline an untitled new project from Bridesmaids director Paul Feig. The Hollywood Reporter has the news, saying that the comedy arrives from Katie Dippold ("Parks and Recreation").

In the film, Bullock will play an FBI agent who forms an uneasy partnership with McCarthy's Boston police officer.

Bullock previously played an FBI Agent in both 2000's Miss Congeniality and its 2005 sequel Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous. She most recently starred in Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close and will soon headline Alfonso Cuarón's Gravity. McCarthy, meanwhile, was nominated for an Academy Award for her role in Bridesmaids, soon appears in Judd Apatow's This is 40 and will star opposite Jason Bateman in Seth Gordon's Identity Thief.

Production on the comedy will begin this summer, taking advantage of McCarthy's "Mike and Molly" hiatus.

Hopefully it's as much fun as Miss Congeniality! :D

The trailer for Identity Thief looked funny too, and that was boring as hell...

I just saw a commercial for this. I am thinking this will be good. Loved the lines about the Queen of England and Sandra Bullock sleeping in a tuxedo.

Let's talk about the latest photoshop fail! :awesome:

UK poster for The Heat f'ed up McCarthy's face.

For comparison, The Shiznit, through Photoshop wizardry of their own, replaced the blank-faced roboty model version of McCarthy with a normal, un-retouched pic of her: & yeah...just...wtf thought the poster looked good when they retouched it?

McCarthy doesn't have makeup on in The Heat, like she did in Bridesmaids.

Yikes that retouched poster doesn't even look like her and it's creepy.

Just saw this. It was pretty funny. All of McCarthy's lines were gold and the movie is worth watching for that alone. Although Bullock and some of the supporting cast do well too.
It didnt have enough action though. I mean theres this pretty big lock and load montage and really barely any shots are fired. Maybe Ive just been spoiled but 21 Jump Street (which had about the same budget of this) and The OTher Guys did a much better job being really funny to me and actually having decent action

I'd watch this again. Good but not as good as I thought it'd be

I thought it was really funny. Also interesting to see Biff from Back to the Future playing the police chief.

I really enjoyed it as well. As Blackman said, McCarthy's lines were gold, and imo, it's easily the funniest Sandra Bullock's been since, well, ever.

The best thing about this movie was Biff Tannen.
