Yeah, a massive step. You do tend to forget **** like that is still going on around the world. It's an ancient cultural thing on their end but I never agreed with it.
 
"Ancient cultural" thing is a very polite euphemism, a lot of their social customs are based on borderline barbarism and should be described as such.

If they're still having public hangings the place is still living in the dark ages.
 
Saudi Arabia has still a long way to go when it comes to gender equality but this is a big step in the right direction.
 
Perhaps the next step is to stop stoning women to death for infidelity ie being raped.

It only takes a small tear to weaken the strongest fabric. This may seem like a small tear but trust me it will lead to much bigger things.
