X3 is a cheesy poorly concived movie, with lame dialogue and a way too short run time....But whocares, it was finally a fun X-Men movie! after the lame bland underfunded atempt in 2000 and the slighty better but still lame and too serious atempt in 2003, it was good to see the X-Men acting like the X-Men! And the movie actually aknowleged it's comicbook roots. The characters were actually powerful and not dulled down version of themselves for the most part and the X-Men actually worked as a team. Most of the movie's biggest problems are a result of having to follow Singer's lame world. Halle Berry still isn't the right person to play Storm but she was a hell of a lot better in this movie and made me actually kinda like her in the role, she was bad ass and seemed mostly commanding. This movie clearly shows that Singer and the previous writers just did not understand or like the character. The action was amazing (especially the Bridge scene) and I'm glad a movie series had the balls to kill off main characters and basically end the series.

About the Characters death's: Cyke was already messed up and ignored beyond repair in the first two movies so it's good that the writers put a un-used character out of his misery.

Jean was the was the bad guy so her dying made since too me in the contex of the story. And so did Prof X, it was hadled fairly well.

Overall the movie is a fun summer movie thats pretty harmless but nothing too special...kinda like the first two...except fun!

Ratings:

X-Men 6.5/10

X2 7.5/10

X3 6.5 or (maybe 7 have to watch it again) out of 10.

X2 is the better movie but I don't think that I will ever watch it again.

Well I agree that this didn't need it's own thread. He's not whining. If you read the post beyond the first four words you'd realize that. Before criticizing you may, just may, wanna read what you're responding to.

ok... when I read the first few words, I stopped.... but you were right ww!

;) Ehn, with all the negativity that was on this board, who can blame ya? LOL. No harm, no foul. :D

X3 disappointed me a little. Superman Returns however I found crushingly disappointing, something which I wasn't expecting. Is it ok to talk about Superman yet? :p

Yes... (because it wasn't as successful as X3: TLS) :p

I share your reaction to SR. When I saw X3, I didn't feel disappointed with the movie, but with certain aspects (no firebird, Jean's off-screen emergence, no Storm origin, Scott's too-brief scenes etc)....

I wonder what the post said...I'm a girl BTW.

X3 wasn't a terrible movie, it was just badly edited and cut out too much. It was disappointing, not terrible!!!

I don't really have much to complain about X3, each movie is its own. There was some things I loved and some things that bothered me just a little but I don't hate the movie, I think I like it 2nd best. Speaking of dialogue, I must say X1 has the best screen play of them all, I just think it was the smartest one, for the most part.

I agree! But U gotta agree that Magneto was well written in X3!

McKellen is great in each of the X-Men movies, although I thought that some of his dialogue was shaky at the end of The Last Stand. I hate that his relationship with Mystique is shafted for heads-up thug Arclight and a no named character (Callisto--seriously, is she even given a name in the movie?).

On a side note, did this review just sneek by on the X-Men forum while pretty much insulting all of the X-Men movies.

X3 was terrible. Worst of the series. SR was lightyears better. And btw, X2 is the best of the franchise. Long Live Singer! :D

Me too! I was like "Uh oh...I wonder how people are gonna react?".

Both X1 and X2 are superior films, for different reasons, X3 follows some of the comic book roots, but ignores others, how could they screw up jugernaught so much??? And all the characters were so changed! And as for the special effects, they were so overblown they became farcicle! Not to mention the terrible acting quality throughout, especially from callisto!

The worst line up of bad-guys ever!!!! And the X-mens line up was rather poor!

Riiiighht...

Wolverine acts like Cyclops.

Storm acts like a whiny *****.

Rogue acts like a whiny teenager who just wants to get it on with Bobby.

Magneto acts like a one-dimensional villian.

Pyro acts like an annoying henchman with no shades of grey like he had in X2.

Jean acts like a stupefied zombie who can do nothing more than grunt and scream angry rants.

Sure, the X-men acted JUST like the X-men.

Yea lets get the Shi'ar involved for Phoenix. And Magneto was not one dimensional. We saw a more ruthless side of him that the first two had been building up to. Wolverine was a bit overdone...I agree with you there. How else would you want Rogue to act??? She hates her powers and is unsatisfied with her life...Singer set that up in the first 2 films...don't blame X3 for continuing with that. Pyro is a henchman??? A henchman is a useless character to get killed off...Pyro was Magneto's right hand man...especially after Mystique got kicked out. Did you want him to have a British accent like in the comics??? I liked how he was Iceman's arch nemesis and had ties with him ala Xavier's school for gifted youngsters. But this thread is doomed to turn into another crazy fanboy rant about how they hated the movie.
