Horror Saw XI is Dead?

What the **** is going on? Why can't they decide on a story idea? What's the problem?

The mod on r/saw and ViewerAnon say there's a rift between producers Mark Burg and Oren Koules, and Burg is preventing XI getting made.

If true, I wonder if the rift is over story? Doing a Saw XI to begin with? These movies are always made on small budgets, so it can't be money.

Could be one who wants to keep going back to the past stories and one who wants a fresh start.

Maybe it's about making Jigsaw a protagonist in the movies. Like you could kind of see where he was coming from with some of his victims, but he was clearly supposed to be the bad guy. In the last movie they changed that, and made John the "hero." Saw movies don't really work for me if everyone who's in a trap is basically a terrible person.

Considering we've heard next to nothing and the film is meant to be coming out this year, it wouldn't be too surprising. In addition, Saw X, at the moment, was so well-received that it would be poetic for the torture horror franchise to end on such a high note, assuming we don't get any more. While I'd love to see more stories told between Saw I and II, it's not necessary.

Saw X would be a great ending anyway. Just let it end there.

However this is shocking, considering how fast they were churning those Saw movies back in the day despite the bad quality of the movies. Its weird how franchises like this get involved in behind-the-scene drama.

See also Friday the 13th.

But I mean 10 movies in 20 years is a pretty good run.

I’m sure it’ll get resurrected again before we know it.

Reminds me of how it is taking ages for the next Final Destination film to come out, after the last one became the best reviewed in the series.

Lionsgate should sue Mark Burg for this. It’s all his fault this happened and he wasted the company’s time and money being stubborn and obtuse. Rip the rights away from him and the other guy.

Corporations ripping IP rights from creators is such a terrible, terrible idea.

Anyway, there is an element of needing to get this done, because Tobin Bell is 82.

Still, the last movie still has that loose end. A comic maybe perhaps?

As someone who never bothered with these films after Saw VII, can ya’ll tell me… is it worth watching Jigsaw, Spiral and Saw X?

Wait, actually I did watch a little of Spiral. I remember finding it hard to take Chris Rock seriously. Anyway though, should I bother watching any of those movies?

Yes. Saw X especially.
