Who else thought the first episode was brilliant, I haven't laughed so much for ages. Lets hope it stays that good.

Yes a pretty good first episode, definatly tuning in next week!!

I'm not sure who's more overrated: Coogan or Jervais. I can't stand either one.

Peter Kay owns both.

Nahh, Kay is in another humour niche, I don't find him funny much myself, just over the top usually, ho hum to each his own. Kay's best role was in 24 hour Party People with Coogan strangely.

It was stunning, I also enjoyed his speech before the "kneecapping"

A new series starring Coogan? I'll have to be on the lookout, hope it pops up on the net soon. I was given Knowing Me Knowing You on DVD for Christmas last year, and I've been a fan ever since.

And I've also just only heard of Man Strokes Woman. For those that have seen it, is it any good?

Only one episode in, but what a first episode.

Just finished watching the first episode. Extremely enjoyable, and the confrontation with the activists had me in stitches.

Has anyone seen Tristam and Shandy?

It certainly has his cringeworthy trademarks, I lauged a lot. He's the most monstrous character Coogan has done real shade of Basil Fawlty with elements of Paul Calf thrown in mixed with a touch of Alan Partridge. He's like a Viz character brought to life.

That's exactly what I meant.

Since my city usually gets many limited release and foreign films, I was hoping we'd get it. Sadly not. :(

I haven't even heard of it. I look forward to watching it.

How about Man Strokes Woman then?

I just finished watching the second episode, and I loved it more than the first. There were some great comedic beats in his speech at the end that had me laughing out out.

Hey Wall Crawl where are you from??

Canada. Canadian television used to actually play a lot of British television shows. When I was younger, I used to watch things like Monty Python's Flying Circus, Black Adder, Red Dwarf, Absolutely Fabulous, Are you being served, etc. The more famous series' would be shown here.

Nowadays, not so much. So now I have to download every series I hear people talking about, like Amazing Lee mentioning The Mighty Boosh, or when all those Extras YMTD's were popping up all over the place. If it wasn't for SHH, I might not have seen them.

Does anyone else like Green Wing? I downloaded that a little while ago and enjoyed it immensely. Or How about Man Strokes Woman? Any word on that?

I saw the first episode but sadly missed all but the last 10 or so minutes of the first episode. While I don't think it is gonna be as good an Alan Partidge I think it's a pretty decent show. His confrontation with the animal rights activists and the taking out of the pigeon was brilliant.

It's a shame Coogan scrapped his plans for a Partidge movie, it would have been awesome, although I can kinda see why with the al-queda plot. Personally I figured a movie would have Partidge moving to America to try and make it big and obviously fail.. I'm not sure how it could be fleshed out into a movie but there could be some quality comedy in that situation although you wouldn't want it turning into a Bean.

And WallCrawl, if you like british comedy then I strongly reccomend a show called Peep Show. There is 3 series of it so far with the 2nd been the best imo. It's about 2 somewhat looser type guys - Mark, who has an office job and is in love with his colleuge and Jeremy who has failed musical aspirations.

The unique thing about this show is it is shot in first person perspective, 90% of the time from the persective of Mark and Jeremy and because of this we also get to hear their thoughts.. Great scripts along with great acting give way to some truly hilarious moments. Deffo try check it out

Thanks for the recommendation. I'm trying to grab the first series now, but there's so few seeders it may take a while.

Man Stroke Woman is a new sketch show. I don't know if it's any good, but the cast features Nick Frost, Ed from Shaun of the Dead. There's various clips floating from the show floating around the net, but I haven't been able to find a torrent for it yet.

I just torrented the first 3 episodes and I think it's great.

I liked the first two, but the final scene of the 3rd episode was fantastic.

And I too recommend Peep Show, it's amazing.

Both Green Wing and Might Boosh where shows I wanted to get into, but just couldn't.

I didn't like the third episode as much as the first two, but the ending was definitely the best part. All three episodes have had amazingly hilarious climaxes.

I had trouble getting through the first season of The Mighty Boosh. The episodes were really rough and almost a chore to get through. There are some genuinely funny moments and songs (like Monkey Hell) but for the most part I didn't really enjoy it.

The second season however, is a real treat. I LOVE every single episode of the second season. The jokes and the banter are funnier, the songs are catchier, and the premises are even wilder. A bit of mad genius, I would say. If you can, the first season is worth sitting through to get to the second.

Green Wing also takes some time to get used to. I'd say if after getting up to the party in Episode 5 and you're still not hooked by the characters, then it's probably not your cup of tea.

I thought the bit with the prostitues and the bit where he went round the lounge tidying up for his friend and turning the music down were hilarious.
