Anybody notice in the scene of Wolverine packing, and Storm stopping him and giving him the "Because you love her"/"If your with us then be with us" lecture, that he was wearing his blue button-shirt and Storm her red tee? I'm pretty sure that it was originally shot to be placed right before Logan and Storm sprinting to Professor X. It would be a little more powerful having that scene placed there instead of before Logan leaving- because we would have Logan telling Scott "maybe its time to move on", Scott shooting back with "not everyone heals as fast as you", but then right after that seeing Logan in his room having trouble getting over her and considering leaving. In the theatrical release, right before and after this scene we see Logan wearing the hoodie and leather jacket.

-Now there's additional dialogue in the theatrical release about Jean killing the professor, but it cuts to close ups of the characters when this happens- if these close-ups are cut out, we have Logan packing at the beginning, then marching for the door where Storm stops him (seamless) and the rest of the scene plays out about Jean "making her choice" (a reference to her X2 sacrifice maybe?). I think they added the killing X dialogue last minute in case there were pacing issues with the editing (since FOX didn't want their audience to go too long without some action scenes). Personally, I think that Logan being contacted by Jean at Xavier's headstone and then leaving on his bike would have flowed better, plus it adds more emotional impact to his arguments with Xavier before his death (being contacted, brought to his knees, and then looking up to see Xavier's face eye-level in front of him, before knowing what he has to do).

Debate and Speculate!

sorry dude. storm was wearing a purple/blue sweater in this scene, not a red tee. logan just wears a bunch of shirts that always kind of look similar.

EDIT

I'm pretty sure I'm right (well... hope I'm right atleast).

As for Logan's outfit, he was shown before and after with the hoodie/jacket, and a majority of the scenes before that with the hoodie- his changing outfits to pack and then going back to the hoodie/jacket doesn't fit at all.

As for Storm? I think your right about the color of her clothes in that scene. For the sake of debate/speculation though, I'm looking at the HD Trailer 2 right now in quicktime- paused at 1:58- her shoulder that is forwards to the scene (this is a snippet of her "if your with us then be with us" lecture) looks like it may have been altered/manipped/CG'd or whatever the hell you call it (if I had QuickTimePro I'd try and make a pic of it). Just saying that it looks fishy. On top of that, if you look at the teaser, where Storm has her back to Logan and he's looking outside of the screen- that doesn't appear in the movie. I'm willing to bet that different versions of the scene were shot, maybe edited together to get the final product, because I really think that scene was originally created to be earlier in the film.

I wonder if they ditched the 'bar' scene to cut down runtime, and replaced it by moving this scene back in the film, kind of to kill two birds with one stone. For those who don't mind analyzing films or seeing how else they could work, what do you think?

And I'm done ranting for now, because I need to get a life.

storm was wearing a purple blackish tee in that scene with wolvie packin and a red on when they were running

Did you watch the movie 100 times yet? I mean I would have NEVER notied that. :p

This is what happens when you don't let your director or...people with editing talents...edit your film.

i know you mean well, but i'm right. haha sorry.

i have a high quality bootleg (shh...dont tell) of the movie on my computer and i checked the scene. storm is definitely wearing something different. purple shirt and a pendent necklace. logan is wearing a blue shirt, but he wears different shirts throughout the movie. they might just be the same color. but you're right that in the scene directly before, he's wearing a leather jacket on top of a grey hoodie, on top of a wife beater. however, it's completely possible that he changed in preparation for his trip.

yes, i have a bootleg. but i paid to see the movie twice already and still plan to buy the dvd. so there. :)

Remember the first X-Men? There's a scene of Bobby walking down a hall with friends talking about meeting Rogue, followed by Mystique as Bobby coming out of the elevator from the lower levels of the mansion. This scene takes place BEFORE the scene with her in the lower levels, tampering with Cerebro!! That's always irked me!

hmmm...never noticed that but I guess you are right!

Isnt that scene of Logan packing anyways because he is going to look for Jean?? I dont think it would have made sense before the killing of Charles, I think Logan got overwhelmed by seeing how Jean Killed Charles and having in mind that she had potentially killed Scott, he decides to go and se if he can Bring her back. To me it makes perfect sense the way it was shown, Logan leaving before the Scene in Jeans house would have implied for him to get there first, and probably get killed or have Jean come back to the masion with him, which would have kept her from joining magneto, the final scene wouldnt be there...is a pradox, or lets say she kills logan and Charles and Ororo get there same time with Magneto...Storm fighting Jugernaut????
maybe if they were trying to make a diferent movie....otherwise its fine the way it is.

Rewathcing? You must have went to see it again....or have it on bootled!:)

BTW, I am watching it right now...I have it in my iPod...LOL and she is not wearing a red tee, is like a dark blue or dark purple blouse or something.

Yea its a blue t-shirt throughout the whole scene. There's a clip over at moviebox (I'm not the bootlegging type!)

But, anyway, was anyone a little irked at the fact that Storm was so quick to go and kill her best friend? Jean rises from her grave and loses control, killing two beloved friends. I'm sure her best friend would realize that something is up and it isn't the real her. Storm and Logan should have both went looking for Jean in a last attempt to save Jean. When that failed, THEN, Storm could have took a leadership role and realized that the Phoenix is in control now and there is only one way to stop her.

I guess she felt like there was not much she could do, after Scot and Charles being Killed by Jean, I guess Storm couldnt see her as her best friend anymore, and rather than take a chance, she decided to take upon the responsibility that Charles confide her and stay in the mansion and take care of the school, rather than taking the chance to be killed by somebody she doesnt know anymore... "she took a stand"

See... I just commented on needing to stop looking at these things and what do you do? you point out another one I never noticed.. now I'm gonna keep looking at that whenever I see X1.

Well I was suggesting having the scene earlier but him NOT leaving after after Storm talks to him (we never see him leave in that scene)- just because we see him in that same outfit just sitting there upset when Xavier "yells" for everyone- The scene we do see him leave in felt to me like it should have been immediately after him kneeling before Xavier.

Question for you guys- Logan's comment that he was "passing through"- has he been back and forth to the mansion since Jean died? I was assuming so, as if he leaves because Jean's no longer there, but keeps going back because he doesn't have anywhere else to really go.

So I don't know if I'm right and I don't want to think about it anymore- I think it all fits except Storm's clothes (anybody check out what I was talking about on the HD trailer, by the way?). I don't care anymore, but I am a little dissapointed with the editing either way.

BUT for those who are gonna say I'm bashing the film... I loved it, so no.

It also turns to night at the end of the movie in like... no time at all which bothered me on some small level

That actually didn't bother me- maybe because I heard everyone complain about it and knew it was coming (and atleast the headlights made it look like they tried).

Wolverine's forest fight bothered me. We see him leaving (which I still think should have happenned right after kneeling before Xavier), cut to another scene, then cut back to Wolverine, standing in the woods, guinea-tee, ready for a fight. That they could have tried better on I think. Then that hole in the shirt thing too

i still dont understand what your problem with the clothing continuity is. i'm watching the specific scenes right in front of me while i type this.

(1) logan at gravestone, wearing jacket over grety hoodie over and a-shirt (wife-beater).

(2) logan in his room packing, he's changed to a blue shirt over wife-beater; storm is wearing a purple shirt with a necklace pendent THE WHOLE TIME including the part where she's in the background unfocused. this part is from the teaser and IT IS IN THE MOVIE. she turns her back as she's walking away.

(3) logan leaves on motorcycle (stock footage from x1, i believe).

(4) logan in forest wearing only wife beater. he probably left his jacket and shirt on the bike since he likes fighting in a wife beater.

ok, everyone knows about the holes disappearing, but the rest, you dont really have anything to argue with. clothes-wise, i mean.

If your talking about the forest scene, I'm talking about just the transition of we see him riding off on the bike, then all of a sudden in the woods with just a wife-beater ready for a fight. That part I'm not talkin about clothes, just mentioned that it felt like a weird transition going going from him riding off to him standing in the woods about to sprint and fight.

i just quoted one post, but i was responding to your most recent posts. you mentioned again storm in the HD trailer and something about a "guinea-tea", which is a term i'm unfamiliar with. i thought it was clothing related. haha my mistake if it isnt. but the storm thing i wanted to clear up.
