Schoolyard Bullying: Which Kids Are Most Vulnerable?

Bullying has only gotten worse with things like internet videos, myspace, and camera phones. To anyone in high school now, Columbine is ancient history. It does not take a massacre to end bullying. The kid being bullied needs to ball up a fist a fight back.

I was bullied, then I stared fighting back and made friends with people that the average **** talker knew better than to mess with. After that, things ended real quick.

-good read-

It's hard to combat social issues especailly in the school setting. Half the times "behavioral intevention" or any intervention for the fact of matter can half the time make the situation even wrost.

On a personal note I kinda wish someone would have tried to bully me. I couldn't imagine... I think sometimes the way kids are raised depends on if they will constantly be bullied or not idk.

Thats very interesting. I'm 24 and when I was in grade school we didn't have all this technology. I can see how that can make bullying so much worst. Man back in my day you use to just get your ass whopped at recess near the tetherball pole, monkey bars or where ever, and that would be the end of it. Now kids take ***** to a entire new level......So sad.

I was under the impression that e-bullying is where it's at these days. We have several of them on the Hype, in fact. :wow:

Biff Tannen and George McFly FTW:o

HAHAHAHA could you imagine Biff Tannen e-bullying McFly though?

How do these things make bullying worse, exactly?

Speaking of which, you're late with your lunch money. :cmad:

Just send it to my paypal account as usual.

Well instead of leaving everything at school, bullies could target someone's myspace or facebook account and while they have the option to delete it, they still probably read most of that stuff.

I'm not afraid o'you!

I'd say the ones who keep getting beat up are most vulernable.

i got a handout in my psych class saying

"...unpopular loners are not the only people who get bullied."

kinda harsh.

Yet, nobody messes with the kid that smells like piss.

Good post.

I think that anyone can be bullied severely, but no one in particular. I don't think that the unpopular geeks that sit at the "weird kid" table at lunch are going to suffer as much as a rival group of popular people.

With the advent of MySpace and with the rise of cyber-bullies we have teenagers forming larger groups of friends that are ready to fight at the drop of a hat.

e-gangs start to form and then there are groups of people who will post brutal fights on the internet for people like me and you to watch and laugh at. I don't know that there are more fights but I think it's obvious that the fights are becoming more brutal and that bullies are become the norm more and more quickly.

The answer to the question is nobody is safe from bullying. At least not at my high school when I was going. EVERYONE got bullied. Even the popular kids. We just bullied one another. Bullying has no specific target. People just choice their targets when they have a moment of weakness and EVERYONE has those.

It depends. If you're one of those kids that was always in your clique, even if they were a clique of dorks, no one from outside that group will make fun of you if you've got your partners around, because you have backup. Now if you're always alone, or you happen to be alone at some point and two or more people gang up, then yeah. Notice no one ever starts **** when it's just you and them, they need an audience.
