Script Discussion thread SPOILERS INSIDE

I'm concerned with how Eric comes off. He seems like a fool compared to the much younger Jane (that's not to say that younger people can't excel in their field). It's not as if Eric is an important character or in the mythology or anything, but it seems his only function is to bounce off Jane.

I also didn't like the 'he would be proud' stuff at the beginning. What's the need to parallel father issues (i.e.- living up to a fathers status) with Thor and Odin? Plus, this gets completely dropped after that line.

My biggest concerns, though, are Darcy and the randomness of the Marvel Universe references. Hopefully Clint comes off a bit more badass than it reads.

yes the idea is to not have to apply the spoiler tags but to be safe we better just in case unless told other wise JDym. lol

PERSONALLY I like how they

Bring Donald Blake into the movie lol. Thor wearing Jane's old Boy Friend Donald Blake's clothes. :D the name tag was a plus. heh

I agree that Darcy's lines as written probably won't all work and I hope that Kat Dennings ad-libbed appropriately.

Erik seems to be a rework of the character Eiric from the old Protosevich drafts. He didn't really come off as a fool to me, just less technology-savvy than Jane.

Well Jane being the younger might have better ideas than Eric, and it seems that Eric is Jane's Stablizer so to speak. I'm sure he won't be a clown.

Guys, you don't have to spoiler-tag anything from the script in here.

I guess if we were asking for the script or offering the script it'd be troublesome, but mentioning these things won't bring down Paramount wrath?

I wonder what clothes Thor wears before he gets hit by the car the first time? (as in not the hospital scrubs from the trailer, and also likely not his outfit thats parts are stripped of by Odin)

i think the writer perfectly introduced and utilized Sif and The Warriors Three to the audience. I wish Loki was given more ala the 2007 draft, but I think Tom will knock it out of the park regardless

Yes, requesting the script or offering or posting links to it are no-nos. You'd probably want to avoid even posting direct quotes from it. But discussing its contents is fine.

It was leaked. Some people read it before it was taken down and have been talking about spoilers from it in various other threads, but not everyone necessarily wants to be spoiled to that extent. So this thread is for the people who've read the script or don't mind knowing details from pretty much the entire movie based on the script.

How much time does Hopkins get in this film? I'm wondering because of how long he may be in sleep mode.

As a big fan of Idris Elba (Stringer, yo!), I would've loved to see more Heimdall, but he does serve a BIG purpose in the story.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but post his...run in with a certain trickster...does he just heal on his own and show up fine in the end?

Well tattered and burned remnants of cloths

A good amount. A couple of scenes fewer than Loki.

I like how early on they are introduced. Probably will cause a few audience members to go "uh, what's going on with his hands..."

Didn't Thor tell Sif and the Warriors Three to bring Heimdall to the healing chamber while he went to go face Loki?

Thor tells them to get Heimdall to the healing room.

What's the difference between the 2011 script version of Loki and the 2007 draft?

Well he found out a bit sooner that he was a Frost giant in the 2007 draft and that basically turned him into a loving brother to the Trickster.
This version shows where Loki still loves Thor he still has jealous tendencies before even finding out about being a frost giant.

He likes being deceptful from the start. One thing that I don't like is how easly the Warriors Three and Sif discover that Loki is the culprit from the initial attack.

I mean, they could had it pan out like a master plot-driving plan and we'd only find out in the end. It would bring about more gravitas to Loki's character if he's the ultimate Xanatos Gambit instead of just being a plotter that gets exposed that quickly.

Still, I liked his motivation of wanting to end the Giant's threat once and for all so that he gains Odin's respect, instead of simply wanting revenge on Odin for not telling him he's adopted. I just don't think that Thor should be the one not wanting to fight Loki at the end. I'd prefer it if it panned out more a bit like Watchmen's Ozymandias:

An act of peace through a very questionable extermination.

Ok thanks for the info, after hearing this I seem like the 2011 version of Loki more than the one from the 2007 draft.
