How this movie is only rated R and at least teetering on the edge of NC-17 is beyond me! It doesn't go as far as that one scene in The Brown Bunny (if you know, you know), but it gets very close.
What a wild and unpredictable ride this was. It's like the wet dream of any young couple in their 20s- throw caution to the wind, spend all the money you want, and flip the bird at anyone trying to stop you. Though in this instance, one half of that couple is a spoiled brat and the other is a stripper. This goes places I didn't expect and gets very unpredictable. Kane made the comparison to the Simpsons as far as its comedy. I would agree, but also make the comparison to some of the Coen Brothers' works go, at least as far as the whole middle portion of this movie being one comedy of errors.
That said, the film isn't without its tragic moments and it has quite the sad ending. This film is Mikey Madison's moment. She's already proven herself in shows like Better Things, but I think this film is going to define her range, and for good reason because she is incredible with the range of emotions she goes through. From being treated like a princess to being tossed around like a rag doll, Madison brings her A-game. Both in her acting and some of the moves she pulls off. You know what I mean, if you've seen it.
