Basically, the search engine doesn't really work, or certainly not well. Big threads, you get no results... not 0 results, just nothing. Blank.

Cmon malice, you're like co-owner of this junk, you could have just answered his question. All you needed to have gotten out of the post was that the search is broken and he wants to know either what is wrong with it, or for a link to where this has been answered (because, surprise, he can't search for the answer!). So link him to an answer, or answer it yourself. Or don't comment. Last thing we need is more mods doing stuff like deleting threads without reason or posting completely garbage responses in legitimate threads.

So yeah, I agree, what's up with the search, and is it gonna be fixed? Cuz the search engine is pretty much the one feature we really need, far more than seven-hundred pixel avatars or whatever.

Plain English:

The search engine isn't working properly... and it hasn't since, forever.

You get a dead window when you search sometimes (ie - searching in giant threads gets you no results. Not 0 results, just a dead windown).

This is consistant and not just a one-time affair, and not an isolated issue. Everyone seems to be aware of this.

Example, go to this thread, and search the word 'nipples' in the thread... (or any word that particularly tickles your pickle).

See what you get. The answer is nothing. Even if you can search it in the forums and it shows you the thread, once you try to search within the thread, you don't get any results... just a dead window.

It doesn't matter from where or for what you search, it NEVER gets past the blank white page.

edit- I've tried it maybe seventeen times since I've been back for survivor and gotten results exactly one time.

No, I get it no matter what. I click "search" type "book" into the subject place, select only community forum and show results as posts, and I will NEVER get anything other than blank white screen. Or searching straight from the drop-down box in the forum itself, same thing. I havent tried it in the thread, cuz, lets face it, it's hardly necessary :I
