Born Again Season 1, Episode 5 & 6: "With Interest" & "Excessive Force" (SPOILERS)

Something Affleck's Daredevil movie managed to resolve and illustrate perfectly is Matt's sonar-like sensory system. That still looks awesome.

What would be the harm in Marvel/Disney incorporating something like this even if it seems like copying? It was better than what they're doing now?

There are a few things they could take from the DD movie, like a fully red costume and the DD logo. I still don't find the Disney+ DD costume quite movie level but more of a progression from the Netflix series. And what is wrong with giving him a DD logo?

Another great pair of episodes
I enjoyed the filler episode, felt very much like an episode of an actual tv series, and Mr. Khan is always a treasure. Intrigued to know why they were after that diamond too. And I really hope we get Matt’s dinner with the Khans in the season epilogue.
Episode 6 was pretty great, Muse came off suitably creepy, although it seems theyre ditching his “sensory black hole” powers for the show… and it was nice to finally see Matt and Fisk embrace their true selves.

It felt a bit like an episode of FBI. In fact, one of the agents outside (I think the one with the cap) looked a little bit like Jubal Valentine (Jeremy Sisto) from FBI and could have been him if they had a DD/FBI crossover.

I rewatched episode 5 and enjoyed it so much more this time knowing what to expect. One odd thing that did annoy me both times: was anyone else thrown off by the weird cartoonish “shiny” sound the gem made whenever they pulled it out? That was a bit tonally weird.

Episode 5 integrates Matt further into the greater MCU with his interaction to Kamala Khan's dad, much like how Hawkeye integrated Fisk into the greater MCU.

It will be interesting to see which Avenger gets Matt's attention that would lead him to potentially show up in Secret Wars.

Why did they put Deborah Ann Woll and Elden Henson in the opening credits of episode 6 when they were only shown in flashback and didn't actually appear at all? Do they think by having them in there it counts as further appearances by them?

Guys, I like the Netflix show but I just rewatched S1 and S2, and I really think you all put it on a higher pedestal than it really is. I actually kinda hate the lightning and colors of it, it's so hard to see so much of the action, and everything just looks sickly green.

Don't get me wrong, its solid, but I don't think its THAT much better than this season so far.
Born Again at its peak is up there with Daredevil on a good day

But I've yet to see a single dialogue scene anywhere near as compelling as the opening confessional or Frank's graveyard scene. Netflix Daredevil on average sat at an 8-9, while having moments/episodes that were flat out 10/10 perfection. I've yet to see that from Born Again

Are Punisher T-shirts generally unwearable now for being too controversial? Will the general public think of the Punisher or something else now?

Something else as in real life it's been hijacked by Neo Nazis.

Am I the only one that found Daredevil's return to be a little anticlimactic? I'm not referring to his fight with Muse, but the moment when Matt decided to put on the suit again. I think it would've benefitted more if we saw him putting on the suit and allowing the moment to get soaked in.

Imagine how I feel having a Punisher half sleeve tattooed.

Bullseye and Muse could return in last 3 episodes ?

that is enought to end all these plots ? Fisk and his task force, gang of heroes'killers, ...
And Agent Powell is part of both secret gang and task force led by Fisk

Since Muse is coming back for season two, I don't think they rush that storyline. Apparently, Powell will also be back for season two as well. And if Bullseye is still alive at the end of this season, he'll also be back.

Hopefully Bullseye gets something a little more comic accurate in the costume department

They've nailed DD and Muse, Bullseye deserves the same, finally

Maybe he'll get a costume like in the Affleck movie with a long coat and a bullseye branded onto his forehead. He'll say he wants a f-ing costume.

I'm gonna be incredibly disappointed if Daredevil isn't in the next Avengers movies. The character and the actor deserve to play in the big leagues.
I agree. I don't want anyone else playing him.

Agreed the subtle changes to the red costume are perfect, the slightly raised texture on the cowl, less black and brighter red really make it visually appealing on screen, its also better lit than the Netflix show was that really makes it stand out on screen more.

Muse's is purfect as well, very faithful to the comic but also looking creepy as all get out at the same time.

As for season 2, fingers crossed for Bullseye from what we have seen so far though for others, wow its shaping up good in the costume department..........

You seem to state that as fact? Where are you getting it?
Any source? Link? Quote?
Thanks!

I have seen it mentioned in a lot of articles about season 2, so it's possible he in fact is coming back

Can you link or quote one?
Are "articles" just fan speculation/desire? Or something legit?
Not a challenge, I just want to read the same for myself.
Thanks.

Edit:
Found something: Just talking about "consequences" not the actual character retuning.
“The Muse run, for lack of a better word, in this story has pretty shocking consequences. And those consequences don’t end,” Scardapane warns. “We’re carrying them into Season 2, is the best way I can put it.”
Is there something more significant, you have seen?

I tried looking for one, but where I remembered seeing it most was in articles talking about Foggy and Karen being in season 2, but I can't find any off hand. But even so, could be an assumption by authors of the time who were listing the cast and assumed he'd be in it. Best I saw was a quote by Scardapane saying the Muse story would be multiseason, but that doesn't necessarily mean that he has to be alive for it. But here is the quote I found either way:

Scardapane said:

So in short, we just gotta wait and see. I have a hard time believing he will he back, but....it is Marvel!
