Discuss Episode 8: "Shadows in the Glass" here.

While Murdock, Foggy and Karen's mission becomes clearer, Fisk's world spins further out of control in his battle for Hell's Kitchen.
ANY SPOILERS FOR EPISODES BEYOND THIS ONE MUST BE TAGGED.

The opening to this one really reminds me of Hannibal

Fisk is really messed up. He's a great villain.

I have a feeling Mr. Urich won't be around much longer... He knows too much.

The ending really reminded me of the DD movie, with Urich deleting the write up and everything

This episode blew me away and provided what so many have wanted from the villain in the MCU, layers. This was def the darkest yet and that's saying something with this show. The ending was superb. They really know how to make great use of the 13 episodes they have. I can not believe how awesome this show is.

I choked up and cried multiple times during this episode. The stuff with kid Wilson and his parents was heavy.

Who would have thunk the Bernstein kid from Crash and Bernstein would've played Young Willy Fisk.

Did anyone notice the first look at the Gladiator in this episode?

No...The buzzsaws?

The Kingpin's tailor is called Melvin Potter, whether that's just an Easter egg or foreshadowing I don't know. But I hope it will be the latter. But IMDB list him as the Gladiator also.

I knew all that. But he actually had buzzsaw gauntlets in the comics, which we do see referenced here.

They made him autistic though. That was kinda new.

I missed the buzzsaws reference. I just noticed the fact they placed so much emphasis on saying his name. I didn't know if you'd noticed just the buzzsaws like I noticed just the name.

Such a layered, even nuanced, performance by both, D'onofrio and Little Kingpin here. You could really say that all around in this ep. Nice back reference to the rabbit in a snowstorm too. Powerful.

The closing scene just sells the rising conflict between Murdock and Fisk sooooooooooo well.

about halfway through this episode, they're doing a great job with Fisk's origin

Hot damn what an episode. Probably the best villain centric story we've seen on a comic book show

I agree...Such a powerful episode and filled with shades of grey for the characters.

Amazing performance by D'Onofrio that makes you realize that this cannot possibly end well for anyone. It is all so twisted up...like spaghetti?

It's brilliant how Fisk stole a march on Ben and Matt by exposing himself and stepping out from the shadows and televised what he essentially said to Matt through the walkie-talkie in World of Fire.

And my word, what the kids in this show go through.

Really enjoyed this one and how it showed how messed up Fisk is and why he's kinda awkward in private.

That ending was great.

This episode is definitely one of my favs so far. Top notch.

D'Onofrio is just knocking it out of the park.

This episode is the true Fisk episode, flashback and all. It starts with the lonely meal for one (feels kinda like my meals), but there's a nice touch with him wearing a Kimono (tying to his past in Japan). The flashbacks were a real trip back in time. I thought they were great. Showing the moments that made him who he is, including his terrible father (another great Wire casting) was cool - particularly when they tied it in with the painting. In the present, he's not at the top of his game and the two stories together make him seem weaker. But the finding strength through Vanessa and going public at the end (combined with the lightening of his suit) let him emerge triumphant as a just as scary threat.

I think this was the best episode.

So we get the Kingpin's origin here.Pretty creepy stuff. No wonder the guy's so messed up. D'Onofrio gave a great performance.

I like all the "good guys" coming together now. DD meets Urich.

I like how Urich deletes all his hard work on Fisk, the same way he did on DD back in the 03 movie. :woot:

I kinda feel DD should'a been able to better deal with that crooked cop before he died. Scene kinda reminded me of Trial of the Incredible Hulk.:woot:

This episode made me realize, as much as I love Matt, and find Charlie Cox to be perfect in the role, Fisk is my favorite now. And, I am sooooooo on the Wilson/Vanessa ship.

God, that backstory. So much hurty.

Flawless villain is flawless.

Not just Murdock and Fisk. Everyone from Foggy to Vanessa has been great and each character gets their chance to develop. I loved that.
