Season 2, Episode 1: "What Lies Beneath" (SEASON PREMIERE - SPOILERS)

Pretty obvious to me it's because the harness is pulling it up in flight scenes.

 

I guess that makes sense.

On another note, I hope the show's producers can bring Doomsday to life like "Krypton" did with their version.

 

The Nathalie stuff was completely uninteresting for me.

Also not feeling the villian that they are teasing. I really like that era of comic books, but I have seen enough of dissapointing versions of that character over the years.

Show still has some good scenes and acting, and I will stick around to watch a bit. I like Hoechlin, I also like how almost "normal and realistic" people come across as in this show. Its not really common with these CW shows.

Supermans costume going from looking pretty good to looking like a wrinkled up Halloween costume made out of balloons, and toilet paper has been mentioned here already, even reasons given for that, but still bugs me.

 

It's CW, so I wouldn't be surprised. Not that there's anything wrong with that

 

DOOMSDAY? *YAWN*

When I saw that tunneling person/thing I was hoping it was going to be The Mole.
Battle Superman and Batman in WORLD'S FINEST COMICS #80.
And the Mole took on Batman alone in BATMAN #340.

 

I enjoyed the episode. Continues to be a good series for me. Is it pretty much confirmed the tease is Doomsday? I'm curious to see how he is handled in this series to be honest. But I kinda wish they would have waited longer to do Doomsday, if that's who is being teased.

 

Even if the character sucks, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt on Doomsday. He's a strange villain to be introduced so soon, but if there's going to be a twist on him, it has potential to be good. The best version of the character I've seen is in that episode of the JLU, so there's room for real improvement of the character. How are they not going to make him look terrible on a CW budget though? Maybe since this is a different spin on the character, that could be taken care of. If that shot is an homage to his first appearance, maybe he's in that suit for most of it?

 

Fun first episode of season 2. I continue to really enjoy this show honestly, so I trust with whatever they got planned next. If it's Doomsday, which it most likely is, hopefully he's handled well.

 

I wonder if we get to see a long hair bearded Superman at some point in this show. Come on WB... I want that long hair/mullet on a Supes already lol!

 

Okay! Finally ready to try and order my thoughts

Things I loved:

Superman's stance on American allegiance
Lt. Anderson - he's got that slimy political politeness thing going on & I dig it
Army of superpeeps
Clarks visions
Lois' feelings about her mum
Clark & Kyle kitchen chat

Things I found irksome:

Sarah treating Jordan so badly... like really bugging me
Natalie (hoping she gets less irritating)
Johnathans new girlfriend (where the hell is Tegan?.. I liked Tegan!)
No scene with retired Lt. Lane - I had assumed he'd move to Snallville or something, he said he wanted to spend more time with his family

Overall I think it just felt clunky to me because of the things that were left teased that were then just skipped (I.e. Tegan) or turned around (Sarah expressing her love for Jordan/Sam not being around).

It's great to be back though. Can't wait for the next one!

Oh... and Doomsday... half of me is screaming 'WHYYYYYYYY!' and crying... the other half is trying to pretend I don't even know who Doomsday is because maybe they have a great way of using him for this series...

 

If they're gonna do Doomsday, I really hope they at least give us Reign of the Supermen.

 

All but Cyborg Superman are there.

 

And really, he is already there. They would likely keep Hoechlin for the initial Cyborg Superman stuff in Reign of the Supermen.
