This was one of my favorite episodes...it had it all and that ending...SHEESH!

I yelled "YES!" when the billy club came out. I'd been wondering when Matt would finally get his iconic weapon.

That new club! I loved that we got that one awesome stunt with the grappling club with NO CG!

The grappling hook sure was different than from the comics, but it worked really well. I thought the whole exchange from Melvin felt pretty weird though. The way he talked about the billy club was if DD had never seen anything like it. He should have just said "here I made some improvements to your billy club/sticks" considering they looked exactly the same.

They made a big deal of it because this was the first billy club with the grappling hook features and other comic book features. They were just fancy sticks before this version. It's the same reason they made a big thing of Frank getting that white skull logo. It's there for the fans to geek out.

Yeah I realize that, but they way he talked about them like they were something completely new and different, even though the design was exactly like before, rubbed me the wrong way. That's just me though.

The wire was actually new, though. This gives Matt more long range options. He was technically just using (television bs) physics to throw the old sticks and somehow have them bounce back to him. The only thing his old sticks could do is connect to make a bigger stick. If his old sticks were a crappy Happy Meal Beast Wars transformer his new one is a limited edition Optimus Primal.

Yeah I know, I'm talking about the way they look. Just a minor nitpick though.

A slightly more cynical reason for the sticks looking basically the same: there's brand new merchandise with those designs, dagnabbit, and they're not ready to make new ones just yet! :p

Actually they might change them more next season (or in The Defenders). Marvel has a knack for changing the look for every major character in their new stuff to sell new toys, and this Daredevil is getting toys now.

i didn't quite like the punisher scenes in this ep..feel kinda rushed into.

I kinda got that as well. I imagine it was difficult to not focus on Matt and Elektra considering that ending. Loved the last Punisher bit, though. Perfect setup for more MCU Punisher. Fun little tidbit: Daisy/Quake/Skye on AoS also knows Micro. He was referenced awhile back on that show.

I won't deny I'm a little mixed on the writing of the episode and how the writing of certain elements came together.

Specifically, Punisher's rescue scene with Daredevil was sort of like...well he didn't really help or rescue much at all. Punisher should've come in earlier and evened up the score so Daredevil and Elektra had a better chance.

Frank and Blacksmith reference something that happened to Frank overseas. Now maybe this is a thread that will be addressed later on.

But man, I totally squee'ed at that grappling swing. One of my favorite stunts this season.

I think there was a lot of Daredevil being pulled in different directions this season. So I can understand why some might find the plot a bit jarring because there are so many threads going on by the final act.

Lots to like but some disappointing things too. As others mentioned, not sure about the Punisher scenes here, he felt like an afterthought tacked on. Would rather they have just ended his arc an episode earlier if they wanted the focus on Matt and Elektra. Or reworked it a bit, have him take his revenge and fully become the Punisher here, but completely separate from Matt; there was really no reason to have him show up on that rooftop at all, it didn't add anything and felt very forced.

Also, I'm really not sure how I feel about Nobu killing Elektra. I can see why they went that way (distancing themselves from the film, plus also making a fair amount of sense plot wise here), but it's such an iconic moment in Daredevil history so I almost feel a bit cheated that Bullseye was removed from that. Still, I suppose Elektra isn't the only love interest on Bullseye's confirmed kill list...

Overall though, a lot I loved, both about this episode and the whole season. It delivered in all kinds of ways, a really strong follow-up.

Cheers.

I'm fine with Nobu killing Elektra if we can still get Bullseye at some point, and he is the one that ends up killing Karen. Maybe it's too much if Bullseye does both. But we need Bullseye and he has to do in Karen.

It was good to see [blackout]Hogarth[/blackout] - Foggy's gonna HATE working for her, lol.

Question
Did anyone else feel like more Punisher was cut out of that last episode? He just showed up on that rooftop, tagged a few guys, and gave Matt an opening. Wasn't he supposed to take out Ninjas with the Mini-gun?

This season was amazing, and of course give me more MCU Frank, he's franktastic

Damn good episode but yeah I have to agree with the punisher issues in this episode, Which is a shame.

Fantastic season and even way better than S1, Now I want S3 damn it!

I think The Punisher was set up for something else but yeah I kinda wish he wouldve been used more.

Yeah I agree with those who think that Punisher's inclusion was, rushed and wonky. I also wasn't big on what they did with Elektra in general.

Yeah, was kind of surprised that it wasn't used, from the way they shot things in the shed I was expecting to see Frank appear at the end with that thing.

I really liked the series, but these last few episodes seemed rushed and not as thought out as the first 3/5th of the season. And the costuming reveals annoy the living hell out of me.
