Discuss Episode 2 of Season 2, "Straighten It Out" here.

ANY SPOILERS FOR EPISODES BEYOND THIS ONE MUST BE TAGGED.

cockroach got his six barrel gun 'josh' from the comics

I wonder if comanche and shades will end up working for bushmaster

Hamilton beating on his wife and kid. Luke gave him a taste of his own medicine

I think I have a crush on Mariah’s daughter :ilv:

The way Comanche looks at Shades and Mariah cracks me up.

Cockroach trying to hurt Luke by kicking him in the balls was actually a smart attempt at doing something.

Like possibly has some anger issues.

I’ve finished the season and now rewatch the early episodes; I feel like those looks Comanche gave Shades and Mariah have entirely different meaning.

I'm finding the "Jamaican" accents annoying. Like they are so exaggerated. :(

EDIT: Gary Clarke Jr playing in the club was a nice surprise. :D

As someone of Jamaican ancestry the accents are pretty bad. You can some of the actors are trying way too hard and over enunciating words regularly.

Is the Jamaican in the show really that bad? I only ever met one Jamaican in my life. An old co-worker. I barely understood a word when he really got going. ='D

A bit better this episode seemed like the story got moving and getting more of a feel for the story of season 2.

Alfre Woodward is just a great actress she grabs my attention every time she's on screen.

Maybe its just me but does anyone else think Theo Rossi (actor who plays Shades) looks like he is tensing every muscle in his face constantly lol noticed it this episode and its really distracting.

P4p star of the episode was the little old lady who told Luke about Cockroach then invited him in for "coffee" haha thought that was hilarious.

This may be the first time I've had to turn on subtitles to understand what's going on. Having them for Bushmaster's dialogue is interesting, because it doesn't translate one to one.

This issue might as well have been sponsored by Disney. I guess there's points for synergy, but the real life people feels a bit distracting. A lot of it is Luke against Mariah and Mariah doing her thing. I like that Cockroach is hard to find. I'm also enjoying the mother/daugher thing with Mariah and Nightshade. Parent/child seems to be a big theme so far.

Speaking of Nightshade, it's interesting that Bushmaster is using her stuff. In the comics, his ability comes from Burstein. The change might be a good streamline, but it's interesting.

Random thoughts:
No wonder Pop's shop is struggling. Who actually cuts hair?
The mandatory federal time for weapons from the Incident is good world building. It means the Vulture's Crew could face the same problem.
Good on Commanche: When Shade shot Arturo, he was quick with what he was supposed to do.
Shade killing Arturo was not cool.
I commented that Cockroach in the comics was known for his shotgun. I didn't expect to see it and definitely didn't expect it to be useful.

Diamondback is probably going to get Cage like powers Burstein down the line so they probably wanted Bushmaster to get his powers differently. Plus the the whole Jamaican Juju stuff fits with Bushmaster's character.

Was waiting for some Captain America or other hero reference when Cage was showing off his powers at the Harlem Jets field.

The whole cast really impressed me in this early episode and got me sucked into the major stories of the second season.

Cockroach is a bastard. I hope he gets his by the end of the season. Though not necessarily death.
Who made the shotgun? the Tinkerer/Mason? it's definitely not a normal weapon.

Yes she's great and has elevated this whole show for me.

Agreed. I was fine with how Bushmaster got his powers. A good fit, yes.
