Season 2, Episodes 9-12 (Spoiler Thread)

That was a goddamn finale.

I love K2 being brutal. Just so satisfying to seem gank Imperials. And just the way Dedra's former assistant was just so unceremoniously killed and used as a shield. Love it.

And shockingly, a large amount of the cast lives. Partagaz is the one I was surprised to see, but yeah, he was going to get a talking to by Vader. Krennic's you sound like Tarkin was great though. Dedra ending up on Narkina is just too perfect for words. Too many people wanted her on the Death Star, but this is better. And you can see her contemplating the hot floor.

Willom living with his Ghorman girl is happy. Also, the toxic yuri fans will be happy, as the toxic exes can now be together. Sad they gave in and gave Mon her movie hair, but they at least did a small upgrade to her movie outfit. Our boy B2EM0 got to be shown. I am somewhat torn on Bix. The child felt a bit cliche, but seeing an interview with Gilroy and his reasoning makes it better in my view. (Though, his explanation of why she left needed better forshadowing than he thought)

And now, Filoni will threaten us with a Cass Jr TV show.

Ahsoka coming during Andor's time reaffirms all the feelings I ever had about that man as a storyteller. And they ain't nice. :funny:

Going from Andor directly into a Rogue One rewatch feeling like

This website has been so slow for ages now that I can barely use it, but I had to make an exception. Spectacular ending. I have to watch Rogue One straight away.

No idea why we dislike Rogue One now, though.

- Make an extremely mid movie.
- Make a prequel show about said movies second lead nobody really cared about almost decade later, and be largely derided for it.
- Make said prequel show one of the very best things in the franchises history.

Make it make sense.

****ing bravo to everyone associated with bringing this thing to life.

Some more gathered thoughts on the final three episodes:

Outstanding. Luthen went out like a boss. I loved that we got to see some backstory of him and Kleya which made the final scene that much more heartbreaking.

I was so nervous for Kleya in episode 11 because I fully expected her to die. I'm glad she made it out. To be honest, I was surprised there weren't any more Rebel deaths outside of Luthen. He was a character I had no expectation of making it out of the show alive but I was also thinking Wilmon was a goner too.

I LOVED Krennic's scene with Dedra and it was awesome seeing where she ended up at the end of episode 12.

Another highlight of episode 11 was K2 vs. the ISB. Just from what we saw of that I found myself wishing that we got that K2 horror episode that Tony Gilroy spoke about. K2's demeanor makes it easy to forget those droids are actually terrifying.

And as for that last scene in 12, I really can't think of another moment in the whole franchise that struck such an emotional chord with me like that. I'm actually having a serious debate as to whether Cassian is a more tragic character than Anakin. At least Anakin got to actually spend time with his kids, for lack of a better phrase. :o

Damn the last 6 episodes of this show really were on a whole other level and it truly is the most riveting and captivating stuff to ever come out of this franchise.

It honestly makes me feel bad that this was ever released on Disney Plus because it deserved so much better instead of being lumped into the pile of bad to mediocre content that has been dumped on that streaming service over the years.

Anyways, these last three episodes were tense as hell and man I was not expecting that last episode to feel as somber as it did but it was absolutely perfect IMO.

The Kleya/Luthen stuff really got me in the first episode and Dedra's fate was satisfying in pretty much every way.

Also, my God have I missed seeing K2 just wreck fools in the most badass ways. That put the biggest smile on my face and now I remember why I loved that character so much Rogue One.

I'm really looking forward to rewatching Rogue One now eventhough I know it's not going to live up to this show but it will at least be nice to see some of those characters again.

Either way I could not have asked for a better ending for this show and I must give Tony Gilroy and co massive props for giving us this bad boy even if it was only 2 seasons.

I actually think Rogue One is substantially strengthened now because we know the background of Cassian, it provides more context why he has no problem joining Jyn to attack Scarif knowing how useless and defiant the council of the Rebellion are. We also know the journey of Mon Mothma, and everything that culminated into this moment/conflict. Rogue One is in many ways now the finale for Andor or the final three episode arc.

But talking specifically Andor, what a fantastic show. Pure excellence that will live on as one of the greatest entries of the Star Wars franchise.

Mon Mothma has shot up out of nowhere to my Top 10 favorite characters of Star Wars. Syril and Dedra were riveting characters and Kleya, what the hell?? Did not have her on my bingo card essentially being the post season MVP so late in the show.

I wish we could get more shows from Tony Gilroy but it's best he walks away now from the franchise unless he truly has something he's passionate about, otherwise as much as we love him, he like any other creative, can have diminishing returns if he just makes more just to make more.

Let's not. Andor deserves to end on the highest of highs, not... that.

Andor ended fantastic. The second season got better and better as it went along and ended with as much satisfaction as the story could. The only real criticism I had with the season earlier was that it wasn't written in a way that really supported the show being called "Andor", but he did get more important as it went along. They probably should have put even more focus on his work since it's his show by name, but I'm fine with it as there are so many great characters.

Luthen was always a top character but they really made him and Cleya even better in the final arc, where those flashbacks were perfectly placed. Dedra ending up on Narkina 5 arguably makes her character arc the best in the show since that ending is so perfect.

So much to say but all in all I'm glad we got to see something this unique in Star Wars and that it's tied to the Rebellion Era as that is further cemented to be the home to all the best Star Wars.

So, after Star Wars Theory gave up covering Andor for hating the show due to not having enough Darth Vader, Jedi and lightsabers, a majority his followers have turned on him and started leaving memes and quotes in the comments sections of his videos, to hilarious results. :hehe:

Sounds mature...and exactly why the fandom is as toxic as it is.

If it was an average show, would those same folks go on and echo Theory's criticisms?

Who cares if Chewie didn't get a medal? I need Andor's widow and child to receive his. :weeping:
The fact that Andor ends his days playing second fiddle to Felicity Jones as the least convincing hardened criminal I have ever seen is sooo very depressing now.

I feel like I need to head canon it that Cassian and K do a solo suicide mission or steal the plans like Kyle Katarn in Dark Forces.
