Superman-and-Lois-Season-3-poster-featured.jpg

Official Description:

Season three of SUPERMAN & LOIS opens weeks after Superman’s blowout defeat of Ally Allston. Clark (Tyler Hoechlin) and Lois (Elizabeth Tulloch) are now working at the Smallville Gazette together and enjoying small town life. But the Kents’ romantic bliss only shines a light on how isolating ‘the secret’ can be, as Chrissy (Sofia Hasmik) struggles to balance a new love interest and her friendship with Lois.

However, Lois’ own work-life balance is put to the test when an undercover assignment reveals a deadly foe that promises to change the Kent family forever. Superman would move heaven and earth for his family, but with a villain this merciless, even that might not be enough. Meanwhile, the Kent boys find themselves pulled in opposite directions. Amid all this upheaval, John Henry (Wolé Parks) is haunted by his doppelgänger’s past, leading to dangerous consequences for him and Natalie (Tayler Buck).

Lana Lang (Emannuelle Chriqui) and Kyle (Erik Valdez) redefine their family post-separation, while Sarah (Inde Navarrette) explores what the future holds for her and Jordan now that she knows the truth about his powers. Having learned the hard way that no one else can be trusted to work with Superman, General Samuel Lane (Dylan Walsh) reclaims his post at the Department of Defense, only to face his own conflict working with his grandson, Jordan. Tom Cavanagh directed the episode written by Brent Fletcher & Todd Helbing.”

Discuss the Season 3 premiere here!

Solid premiere and lots of interesting set up/relationships. The new Jonathan is going to take some getting used to and I thought Jordan Elsass was definitely missed, but he was always one of my favorite characters.

Missed this show and Tyler Hoechlin is my Superman though and I'm looking forward to having it back on a weekly basis.

Henry Miller's costume already looks like Lex Luthor's from Super Friends, and then he takes off his helmet.

I do try and enjoy this show, but the Jordan character and the actor who plays him really is insipid, mundane, dull and boring. I just ff through all of his scenes, and neither he or the character is someone I care about. He really is a drag on this show.

Jordan Elsass was missed. He was by far the best of the younger actors, and brought a lot to this show.

The older actors/characters do well, but the show really is hurt by the younger actors and their story lines.

Well the first 10 minutes have been delightful. I love Clark's database of rogues to spar with. Since The Flash did Grogg a million times I'm not dying to see Titano or anything, but keep my hopes for Atomic Skull alive, why don't you!? :argh:

This was one of my favorite episodes. Had laughs, sweetness, drama, and a little less of that CW angst. They also did a good job of setting up interesting stuff for pretty much everyone going forward.

- I love, love Lana knowing. Their scene early on together was sweetness and light.

- I liked the MOS fight, with what I thought was a Matrix Revolutions finale nod thrown in.

- Cranky Clark complaining about Jordan... why is it adorable? :funny:

- Died at the driving instructor.

- Knew they were pranking dad. I really love the domestic moments on this show, and there were so many to enjoy here

- Please tell me they are actually going through with Lana leaving her husband for good.

- Thank you Lois' boss for taking one for the team.:o

- A lot of proper adult drama this week, all handled very well. Not overwrought, just real.

- Digging the Stargirl "summer school" vibe.

Delightful is a great way of putting it. I could watch this episode every day, and I'd enjoy it.

Yep, this certainly my favorite premiere thus far, and probably one of my favorite episodes.

-The lightness and banter in this episode was a joy to watch, and it was great to get so many scenes with characters who rarely interact. Like I never knew I needed a Sam/Natalie relationship, but I certainly do now. I can't believe there's a version of Sam Lane I actually like now. What a world.

-Clark and Lois being such a happy married couple was giving me those Rebirth feels, which is always a good thing. Clark ranting about Jordan's botched heroics was precious. "Got turned around" and ended up in Malaysia. :hehe: I think that single scene endeared Jordan to me more than anything in the last two seasons.

-New Jonathan's gonna take some getting used to, because he is literally NOTHING like Jordan Elsass (I mean, is it really Jonathan without the peppy Scott Caan walk?!), but I think it might be in a good way. He seems to have more range in his line deliveries that makes me think Jonathan will feel like a more dynamic character with him in the role. Time will tell. Coach Gaines popping into that car though for his test was gold. :funny:

-It did unfortunately dash my hopes of Kyle being written out of the show by starting up a thing with him and Chrissy. I'm sorry you drew the short straw, Chrissy, but you're literally the only other adult female on the show who isn't Lois Lane or the guy's ex, so I guess we should've seen this coming. :csad:

-Clark being crappy at BBQ-ing is just the best little touch. I love it. It tracks. Superman has lived on junk food his entire life (because he could), and let's be real, I'm sure he "cooked" a lot of food with heatvision as soon as he figured that was a thing, so he really should have no culinary talent.

-Still wish they'd tone down the muscle shading, but the new suit is still a HUGE improvement.

-I know the Bruno Mannheim/Intergang threat won't remain this...quaint forever, but right now I find it refreshing how small scale it is. Even though I genuinely don't know who that creepy masked dude is supposed to be. That fight with Atom Man was great though and I just love seeing Supes in Metropolis (Suicide Slum!). Nice nod to this sign, too:

-It has honestly never been more apparently to me what genuine fans the writing team for this show clearly are....which is what makes the Gotham Knights promos during the commercials more jarring, because whoever's making that show? Well let's just say there's a contrast lol.

-Tyler and Bitsie do the "parents" thing so well. That moment when they simultaneously do impressions of their teenage sons was just...:atp:

-Did they seriously just give Creepy Mask Guy and Bruno Mannheim an evil lair in the subway tunnels?!?! Seriously?? I'm so glad this show is back.:res::heart:

Spellbinder, I’d say, from the swirly pattern of the mask. Maybe a woman, too, or at least that’s the impression I got.

Apparently, it's Onomatopoeia, a Green Arrow villain created by Kevin Smith. Has he ever been in a Superman comic? *shrug*

The same way most people who don't have time to read the stuff they paid money to have sit on their shelf let alone a billion other characters learn when they're browsing and bored: wiki. :o

That score when Clark builds the fortress in the first season and at the end of last hits just as hard even in the previously on credits lol.

Examples

Really want them to release a OST for the series.

I just finished watching it and I thought the premiere was delightful.

I thought NuJonathan fit really well into the Supes family and I loved Lois teaching him how to drive. Glad the family chemistry is still there amid the recast.

A lot of different ways to go this season, but again my ONLY gripes are that I really don't care about Lana's marital drama or the CW teen drama with Jordan/Sarah. I really hope they give him a love interest this season who is interested in him. Homie gave her that beautiful elephant thingy from Malaysia that she just rejected, and then she gets an attitude when he's ignoring her at the party and she's giving him a cupcake.

Also warms my heart to see that many black people in Smallville AND our new antagonist Bruno Mannheim.

Forgot how much I missed this show. Can't wait for next week.
