Official description:

SUPERGIRL FACES HER BIGGEST CHALLENGE YET — Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) must deal with the destructive aftermath of Lex’s (guest star Jon Cryer) nefarious plans. Shocked at what Lex has created, Supergirl faces her biggest challenge yet. Ben Bray directed the episode with story by Gabriel Llanas and teleplay by Katie Rose Rogers & Brooke Pohl (#417). Original airdate 3/31/2019.

A shorter synopsis than others we've seen, so this could be a pretty big episode.

Yeah, extra-vague description usually means a big ep. The title makes me nervous about Miss Tessmacher's involvement...especially considering her character's origins.

Could be. She already works for Lena, so I wouldn't be surprised if Lex blackmailed her into working for him instead.

Eve did mention a sister with cancer so I can defiantly see Lex using her sister to get Eve to work for him. It wouldn't even be necessary to cast the sister to do that just giving her a name and referring to her would be enough..

Nice catch, that sounds like a strong possibility.

Looks like this episode will be all about Eve. Maybe they'll delve into her background.

So after this week's reveal, I'm gonna rule out that whole "blackmailed with terminally ill sister" thing, lol.

Maybe they should've had Eve in a relationship with someone before. That would've been even more of a betrayal. Don't know who they could've had her with though. She did flirt with Mon-El but nothing serious.

How much of Catco and L Corp is bugged though?

True, she seemed a willing participant. I look forward finding out more about Eve she's one of those characters who's always lurking in the background. To her credit Andrea Brooks has IMO always played Eve as someone with more going on than she's letting on. That's made this transition believable. I have to think when Eve was cast in the beginning of season two that they didn't anticipate this storyline almost two years later, having Ms. Tessmacher was probably fan service. I'm guessing they decided to do something more with Eve at the end of last season once she was reveled to be a scientist and started working with Lena but it's hard to imagine they would've anticipated this turn of events. WB had to give permission to use Lex. I actually suspect they got permission after the season started filming and changed the story a bit. These episodes with Lex could be taking the place of the originally promised Winn storyline.

Likely be about Red Daughter and Eve Tessmacher.

Eve should really have joined in the musical episode. Or she should've gotten a chance to do karaoke with Kara. That would've deepened the bond and put her in Kara's circle of friends, and then the betrayal would've been greater.

Hopefully this episode stays as Kara/Rara centric as the last, and we don't get the (though I'm sure its coming) inserted storyline of James with superpowers and the "ooooh look I'm now a real superhero" schtick from James. :yuk: The James centric stories are normally around ep. 20 or so....hopefully we get to skip the need for that episode.

I’m just waiting for the other shoe to drop with the Harun-El serum. They can’t have a miracle heal-all drug stick around for the long term, and they used it without proper trials, so you know something’s gonna go wrong with it. Maybe James will be used to show that aspect.

If the two Kara’s meet in this episode, I wonder if they will battle at the White House.

Doesn't look like it's an episode about Eve's past after all. They already showed last episode how she came to work for Lex.

I’m wondering if the title is a reference to the move All About Eve which does involve a character insinuating herself into another’s life. Other than that the reverence doesn’t work all that well but the synopsis is very vague. It would be an unexpected reference and a good intentional misdirection. All About Eve - Wikipedia
It’s a great movie that IMO everyone should see.

Someone came up with a good point elsewhere. They didn't show the full battle between Supergirl and Lex. What if Supergirl is knocked out and that the Supergirl that super-speeds to James and Alex was Red Daughter impersonating her during the day and that she's back in her Russian superhero outfit at the end of House of L?

Hmm....maybe, but way too confusing.

No, not too confusing. Real good actually! I was wondering why Lex wouldn't just kill her when he had the chance, and that could really be it. Rara already faked out Alex once, and could do it again, esp if there's an emergency and they are all in a hurry.
Ultimatly could get what ends up having so many top officials in the Oval just in time to be sliced in half! Without POTUS being there, I would note.

Makes me hope that Baker is somehow in league with Lex and this is what gets him toppled. Just a hope though, and a far one at that.

Maybe. And even if it didn’t happen then, it certainly seems as if some switcheroo is being planned. Otherwise, there’d be no point to the “ear-piercing scene.”

In the preview, Rara dressed as Supergirl kills pretty much everyone in the Oval Office.....so yeah, there is a switcheroo....that is why the President calls Supergirl Public Enemy #1 or something like that....

Now someone, check and see if Supergirl is wearing the gold ear studs in the hospital scene!
