Official Description for "The End & The Beginning" -
Superman is locked in a brutal battle with Luthor's monster; Lois and the boys race against time to save General Lane.

Official Description for "A World Without" -
Lana and Sarah join the fight against Luthor, who starts making moves in Smallville; Jordan and Jonathan butt heads over an important decision.

Discuss both episodes here. No spoiler tags necessary.

First I have to get this out…. I could not keep a straight face in the flashback with Lois and Luthor lol that wig did him no favors. Highly emotional first episode even though the CW pretty much released the complete fight scene on YouTube. Besides THAT flashback the rest of them I thought was pretty great. Watching the next hour now.

I was getting used to Sarah and Lana not being around that when they showed up, I was actively waiting for the show to return to either Lex or the Kents!

But solid first episode. Even though we know that Clark will be back, still an emotional ending.

First ep is just airing here now.

I should have rewatched S3 before this, because I forgot about that whole Sam dating app subplot, and if that silly little S3 subplot actually leads to his death here, idk how I'll feel about that. :funny:

Damn, been a lot of surprises the past 2 hours

Ok so that’s definitely not Clark’s heart.

All due respect to Marsters...I sincerely hope not. :funny:

Was thinking this might be who Cavanaugh's playing.

That's what I thought as well, especially after reading the Producers' recent interview with K-Site.

So Tom is playing another Professor again? That's original.lol

Or can we expect something a little more... brainy?🤔

Lex literally called him a "brainiac." I don't think they'd do a tease like that without some sort of follow-through.

Given how this is the last season, along with the reduced episodes, and lower budget... I wouldn't expect too much. I think it's safe to say that we'll also get a rematch between Superman and Doomsday as well.

There's a better chance of you posting #RestoretheSnyderverse on your X account and Michael's Lex being given a more convincing wig than us seeing this by the end of the season/series:

Not thrilled with Emily being the one to question Lana's anti-Lex views and being like, "hey, the town needs investors!" She was a direct victim of Morgan Edge. She should be more wary than anyone. This makes her seem awfully dumb.

I wasn't expecting these first two episodes to be so emotional but man the ending of the second episode really got me and overall, I thought this was a great start to The Death of Superman arc.

Loved seeing Cudlitz Luthor in full on sinister, villain mode.

So good to have this show back, bit of an emotional 1-2 punch with the two hour premiere and I'm finally settling into this new Jonathan. He had a couple of great lines in the scene with Lex at the diner. I still don't know what to make of this version of Lex, but it works for the show I guess.

Episode 3 looks action packed

Co-showrunner Todd Helbing calls Amanda’s comment “intentional,” telling TVLine that “there will be more to come” with Brainiac in future episodes. During a previous interview, Helbing told us that a “significant character from the comics” would be referenced early in the final season. “You hear the name drop, then you start hearing that name drop more, and then you see that person eventually,” he told us at the time. Well, at least that’s one mystery solved.

Fantastic start to what I hope is the fantastic final season the show deserves.

Jordan's dumb. The wrong kid got powers. :argh:

Doomsday still being out there makes me more confident that Clark will be back sooner than later. He sure ain't gonna be around all season and I don't see Team Superman getting the job done without Clark. I'm gonna guess he'll be back around the end of episode 4 or episode 5.

Holo-Clark was an emotional surprise I was not ready for.

Lex Luthor/Doomsday entered the picture in the last couple eps of S3, and I kinda think that's how the show's gonna handle Brainiac. Right now, I'm wondering if this version of Milton Fine is his consciousness transferred to a human vessel after a previous Superman defeat. That could help explain the lack of full-on, city-shrinking invasion story with him. I can't remember which continuity it was, but there's one version that took over the mind of Lena Luthor, and I'm also kinda wondering if that happens with Lex's daughter (also Lena in comics, Elizabeth here). Either way, it will be interesting to see what they do. I always enjoy stories where Lex works with Brainiac and gets more than he bargained for.

Is this boy really screaming over a severed heart getting stepped on??

Kid, it already got torn out of your dad’s chest! Pick that **** up off the floor and deliver it to your holograndma!

I keep waiting for Jon to suddenly get powers or an aneurysm... I actually felt for Jordan at the end.

Did Clark really get a brand new suit just to be holo dad? So we have two heart options? I believe the heart was in that case Luthor was staring at... or if the can kill Doomsday since he still has Bizzaro's heart.

That wig, my God... no.. And what was up with Sarah's bangs?

The press 1 or 2 was too good.. this coming from someone who did vote Jason gone.

Janet Olsen.. so jimmy's mother or sister?
