Agreed with that. It's not like he's sacrificing the kid just to gain power for himself. I don't see him as an all out villain.

And would have loved to see him take the Black.

 

Its interesting. You have him doing something that not even Tywin or Roose would do, yet his actions were intended as being very much selfless ie standing against the inevitable Long Night. The more I reflect on it, the more I find it interesting. That would be a great scenario, Marvolo.

I wonder if that scenario wouldn't unfold with Stannis getting those wildlings he wanted? Now there's nothing to stop Thorne from sending brothers out after the wildlings that're through the Wall. They, the Night's Watch, have the homefield advantage against the wildlings now.

And their numbers would be divided further when the Jon Snow supporters find out. Not just divided, they'd probably be fighting for the other team!

 

I want Wunwun to be voted as the next commander of the nights watch. They wouldn't dare try to stick him. He'd just chuck them off the wall.

 

I always loved that great little scene in the books where Wunwun met Shireen and bent the knee, calling her "Little Queen".....I'm sad now.

 

I hope that happens, because logically then the treacherous Crows would be slaughtered. Firstly and secondly, there's the numbers and infighting issues previously mentioned. Thirdly, the Crows just aren't battle-ready soldiers; about a third of them are just labourers, and even the rangers don't appear to be equipped to conduct military campaigns. They could barely defend their own keep, much less attack someone else's. And there's no homefield advantage against an opponent that is accustomed to nomadic living, constant intertribal warfare and can live off of twigs and rocks. And they have a giant.

 

The giant could take them all out on his own! And I hope the above happens as I really want to see Alliser Thorne getting his due. Maybe the giant can rip him to bits before eating him. Or maybe while eating him.

 

The last episode was a predictable joke. Killing off Jon Snow was just way over the top.

Not necessary and they just didn't for shock value. Predictable they would kill off Stannis and Jon Snow, while chracters like Roose, Ramsay, the Mountain, Thorne, Cersei, Sansa, still live on and also showing a kid get burned at the stake??

Just saw the final episode, now I need some time to process.

 

considering how they pretty much show everyone else's certain deaths on the show and the fact that they gave both of these men vague "endings", i'm not sure they're dead.
especially if you listen to the theories and whatnot floating around.
i just don't think they'd give two major characters like this a weak cop out off-screen death when lesser characters have had better deaths

 

What I'm trying to say is, if Game of Thrones had put even a little more effort into divvying up its screen time and more shrewdly prioritizing some storylines over others (or perhaps even cutting a couple of the lesser ones), I think both season five as a whole and this incredibly overstuffed finale would've felt quite a bit more successful.

 

season 5 was the first time i really felt like more than 10 episodes were needed

In books...hints that Jon may still live. However, who knows what the showrunners will do.

If they know what is good for them...he needs to be brought back on the show. Killing Jon and keeping a frankenstein like Mountain still alive as well as turds like Ramsay and Bolton alive? WTF?

Showrunners need to really step it up in these last two or 3 seasons.

 

The way Stannis was offed on the show was ridiculous.

 

Killing off the little girl like that was a mistake by the showrunners. They way they handled the whole Stannis arc this season was garbage.

 

I wonder if Margaery Tyrell will be forced to do the Walk of Shame in season 6.

 

Yeah, I have to agree. Both Stannis and Sansa's arcs were a major disappointment to me in season 5.

 

They were doing well until E9 relapse. I wish we had gotten Abel the Bard, though.

 

Hopefully Natalie Dormer's game for it. That'd be...a sight.

 

The only thing she's accused of in the show is perjury, so I doubt it.

 

Now THAT would be a great way for the showrunners to make up for crap they gave us this season for the way they treated Stannis and who knows what they plan on doing with Jon.

If Jon remains dead in the show..it would be an utter mistake.

 

Any character portrayed by Natalie Dormer would volunteer to do it.
