Official Description:

TECHNOLOGY BECOMES THE NEW THREAT- Supergirl (Melissa Benoist), Alex (Chyler Leigh), and Brainiac (Jesse Rath) thwart an alien attack while William (Staz Nair) investigates Kara (Melissa Benoist). J’onn J’onzz (David Harewood) and Kelly (Azie Tesfai) use Obsidian tech to solve a problem. David McWhirter directed the episode written by Dana Horgan & Katie Rose Rogers (#502). Original airdate 10/13/2019.

Love the idea of seeing Supergirl, Brainiac 5, and Alex teaming together.

As much as I enjoy Alex, I would really rather she step back alittle this season and they write more of the action scenes for solo Supergirl.

Trying to figure out what function this new dude serves in the overall big picture for the season. I don't think he's a love interest, and Rojas is more than enough for a CatCo antagonist, so I've gotta assume he's probably part of the Leviathan plot. Especially with him now immediately "investigating" Kara.

Hopefully they’ll flesh out Willem Day more in this one.

I re-watched the scene he was in and it appears he has wedding ring on, so love interest probably isn't happening.

Ok so new guy's "wife" is a lie. Better not be a damn love interest after all.

Honestly, if Andrea were to fire Kara, it wouldn't exactly be unjustified. Kara kinda needs to learn how to be an employee when the boss is not her friend.

I wonder if they’re getting rid of Catco.
It's starting to feel that way. But then...what would Kara do with no CatCo? I can't see them ditching her "calling," so unless they introduce an alternate news outlet for her to work for, it's gotta stick around.

Last week they said that somehow they had signed a no work for other news company contract....so I don't see how an alternate news outlet will happen.

And I would just like to say....I don't like her new suit at all.

How about either the Daily Star or Inquisitor?

Yeah it's like they're intentionally writing her into a corner to set up some big change. Just not sure what.

I like the suit, hate the hair, lol.

Good episode for Kara Danvers, J’onn, and Kelly. Things are getting interesting for Lena/ Eve and Andrea/ Willem.

I wasn't too crazy about this episode, especially as a followup to the great premiere. I like J'onn's storyline so far, but nothing really stood out for me.

I'm glad the Supergirl vs Alex fight wasn't because of something silly and it worked.

Still not sure what the intentions are with William - starting to lean towards them making him a love interest after we saw him at the end, but who knows.

Next week looks to be pretty much a filler episode, but it should at least be interesting.

They're pushing Lena too far too fast, imo. This is not a believable evolution of her character to me.

In fact, that goes for this ep in general, I'd say. Like the whole, "William is scum but look! He's at a soup kitchen, so he must be good after all!" thing. Talk about laying it on thick. I mean, these writers ain't exactly known for their subtlety but the progression of the arcs so far this season are moving at Ryan Murphy levels, and that's not a good thing in my view. Comparing this ep to last week's very honest and measured portrayal of the Kara/Lena drama is like night and day. This feels so forced in comparison. Everyone, even Kara, seemed a bit OTT with their behavior. Plus I never really care for the eps that focus heavily on the romantic relationships.

So yeah, not a fan of this ep.

Wasn't as good as the premier. Batwoman beat her out this Sunday, and that one wasn't as good as last weeks either.
Really not liking the Lena arc as yet. As Flckchick stated it felt more than a little forced, and that scene between Lena and Andrea was pretty weird. Quite the change in power dynamic with Lena being spoken to like a subordinate.
As for Willem, he's not a bad guy. It feels like he's playing the creep part for some reason. And I too really hope he does have a wife and he is not an intended love interest. I wouldn't mind Kara going solo for a little while.
But how the heck did he track her?! One call to track Kara Danvers and suddenly he's able to follow her anywhere..? Looks like yet another person is about to figure out her 'secret' identity.

Also, I know she's obviously meant to be a villain, but after 2 episodes, I am officially Team Rojas until further notice. Kara got away with waaaaay too much **** behavior at work for way too long because all her previous bosses had a soft spot for her and gave her the longest leash ever. Your boss gives you an assignment, you do it. Without snark. That's how life works for most normal people if we don't want to get fired. Nice to see her have to suck it up for once. And I didn't really follow what exactly Andrea was accusing Lena of beyond stealing some IP, but it seemed like it was true, and frankly anyone willing give Lena a good dressing down right now has my blessing, lol. Plus I still say Andrea was right about CatCo's business prospects last week.

So yeah, that's gonna be Team Rojas for me, at least until she goes homicidal or whatever. :oldrazz:

I hope they don't turn both Kara and Lena as unlikable too fast this season.

Newbie here, but I think he might be a widower, and still wearing the ring because he is grieving the loss, and dealing badly with it. Course that doesn't explain why he's investigating Kara? I've no clue about that. He's obviously brought in to be the boss's sidekick, but this soup kitchen scene tells me he'll end up team Kara along the way.

Or Kara Danvers had rubbed off on me and I want to see the best in him?!? Lol

Not really seeing an unlikable Kara? Lena has been going this direction since season 3, so it doesn't surprise me. I think we just miss it because Lena is being played by Katie McGrath, who is near impossible to dislike ;)

I used to love her when she was Morganna, and I've hoped the show wouldn't do Morganna 2.0 but it's happening, so I'll come along for the ride. Katie is so good at playing a tortured bad girl.

I just hope it ends differently than Merlin, which I'm fairly certain it will when it's all said and done. I mean, this is Kara/Supergirl we are talking about. She's never going to give up on Lena. More like Kara will think it's all her fault.

This is a solid possibility. But yeah, based on his shady reaction to that one guy's question of, "Isn't your wife a lawyer? You should have plenty of legal pads at home?" I'd say it's safe to say the wife is NOT actually in the picture, whether she's dead, never existed, or what. Which means "love interest" is still, unfortunately, on the table. Truly hoping they don't go that way. I don't need another attempt at the "they hated each other and he treated Kara like **** at first, but he was actually a good guy underneath and she fell for him" romance. It was hard enough to sit through the first time.

More beat poet Brainy please.

Ok episode. Not a whole lot to it. Just sort of slow set up. Which I fear may be the case for a lot of the shows before Crisis.

I think it is a justifiable evolution for Lena....she has said several times throughout the last 3 seasons about trust...she has snapped....snapping only has to have a trigger. She has had a lifetime of evolution for this...Kara's betrayal was simply the trigger for a lifetime of crippling trust issues. I'm loving this part of the storyline. Jonns storyline seems like all the others so meh. I would love for Catco to go by the wayside...she could easily go freelance reporter and that would open her up for far more choices of stories to investigate.
