    Jon: "I'm not a god."

Tormund: "I know. I saw your pecker. What kind of god has a pecker that small?"

    :hehe: Tormund, never change.

It was a good episode overall but I am tired of them killing off Direwolves like they aint nothin and they need to start giving Daenerys some quality screen time/story instead of 2 lil minutes.

This is where Dany's plot should have picked up imo. What we got was good. Yay for more Dothraki lore.

Did Pycelle fart when he saw Gregor?

[BLACKOUT]Poor Shaggydog. :csad: I suppose he was the most expendable out of the remaining direwolves (God knows if we'll ever see Nymeria again...she's probably hanging around with Gendry somewhere).[/BLACKOUT]

I wonder if killing off at least one important character per episode is going to be a trend this season, since it's happened in the first three so far ([BLACKOUT]Doran Martell in episode 1, Balon Greyjoy and Roose Bolton in episode 2, and now Alliser Thorne this week[/BLACKOUT]).

Not sure the title for this episode is accurate.

[blackout]Technically Jon is free of his duties since he died, right? What oath has he broken?[/blackout]

I'm pretty sure he did. I want Gregor to smash his head in.

It only took five seasons but Jon Snow might finally leave Iceland!

Also, wow, the Karstark, Bolton, and Umber kids are all rapists, pedophiles, murderers and enablers.

[BLACKOUT]He wasn't the Oathbreaker. And yes, he died. It was his right. Has always been the theory, and it was correct. So happy.[/BLACKOUT]

How did y'all feel about Howland stabbing Dayne in the back?

On the one hand Ned was his friend so I understand why Howland did it, and even the greatest soldiers can get taken out in some BS ways, but it just didn't sit well with me. Especially Ned immediately cutting Dayne down like that. Dayne deserved more respect than that regardless which side he was on. Would an older Ned have been ok with Howland stabbing a person in the back, and then cut him down like that?

I don't think Ned cares. In the book it was a net, here it wasn't. Either way what is important is his sister.

in the 'inside the episode' they mentioned after all that Ned has seen... the mad kings actions etc... he was willing to give up his honor for what he thought was more important given the circumstances... so i feel Howland had the same mindset... do whatever it takes.

as for respecting Dayne... Dayne didn't give much reason to... he wouldn't tell Ned what was going on... For all Ned knew, Lyanna was being raped or tortured or something... Dayne just put on the helmet ready to go...

thats what bothered me... you'd think there would be a bit more discussion before straight up fighting.

I always wonder why everyone would think that Stannis would make a better king than Renley. Most people probably would have been fine with his rule. He wasn't incredibly intelligent but he also didn't let himself get manipulated into killing innocent people in the name of his own righteous rule. Stanns allowed himself to become a religious zealot.

Well first, Stannis of the show isn't exactly Stannis from the books. Secondly, Renly was a weak man, easy to manipulate, who went against what was right because he thought he could be king.

    I'm in the Stannis camp.

For me, its that he's a tried and tested battle commander, and is generally the kind of guy I'd want in charge. Rennly was a nice guy, but at the end of the day I'd want a ruler that's competent and dedicated to serving his people over someone whose best quality is that everyone likes them.

Really, see Stannis's scenes from season three - the religion's more a tool for him, otherwise he wouldn't have been hesitant to sacrifice Gendry and then later, Shireen.

I expected a bit more discussion too, but this was post Trident, and Rhaegar was dead and Dayne was no doubt furious and disgusted by what had happened so he probably just wanted to put Ned and his men straight into the ground.
