Season 6, Episode 4 "Book of the Stranger" Discussion Thread

I just want to say that this is the best episode season 6 has thus far produced. Both the stuff at the beginning with Jon and Sansa, and then the stuff at the end with Daenerys...



That is all.

 

The best thing about tonight's episode might have been Tormund trying to prove he has indeed made it with a bear.

 

That's what makes it all the more special in my eyes. [blackout]Robb loved Jon. Arya loved him, Bran loved him, Rickon loved him. Sansa always held Catelyn's view of Jon, even if not as strongly.[/blackout] But after all that's happened and all they've been through, all that old s*** just falls away. They're all the other one has.

 

Who cares about any of this crap? We were taught the art of sensual eating by Tormund.

 

I was looking for a T-Rex sized Drogon to come looming from the smoke and shadows while that temple was burning. Anyone else?

 

I assumed he was going to save her. Happy that didn't happen.

 

I'm surprised her storyline's coming along as quick as it is. Its a welcome change of pace. Same for Tyrion in Meereen.

That was a great line.

This season is showing exactly why I had a huge problem with last season. More has happened this season then all of the last.

 

In one of the trailers or teasers for the season there was a shot of Drogon flying over vaes dothrak during the day so I expected him to show up but then night came so I wasnt expecting it in this episode. I guess he'll show up the next episode Dany is in.

 

What an awful ending to a mediocore episode.

Yeah, there's no freaking ruse by the Umbers. That was an invalid theory.

 

Hey man, I can't help that this is literally the worse season we've had.

All the characters have been made to just act for plot convenience, there isn't even a central plot anymore, just shock value. We're now 4 seasons in and how has the plot progressed? It's the same as before, it's just waiting for that episode 9 to happen.

Bad dialogue, good actors getting killed off for the sake of Ramsay Bolton to have screentime.

 

I'm not. They have A LOT yet to accomplish with a limited amount of episodes (19 or 20 left total?) to get it all done so they have to haul ass!

 

Drz.... come on.

 

As your post in the Book Readers thread has shown, you refuse to watch the show in anyway that isn't to rip on it. So yeah, apologize when we don't take this seriously as we watch the plot obviously progress.

Why do people who hate a show even bother watching it?

 

Because they are desparately trying to find purpose in that vapid existence they call a life.

And they are trolls.

Or snails.

Regardless, its best to just ignore them.

 

What an episode. Edge of a seat. Overall, though, I can't help but think the story is rushed. Or maybe it's because the previous season was really slow.

 

Danaereys' fire walk was supposed to be inspiring and epic, but it's similarity to Ninth Gate's ending freaked me out.

 

Emilia Clarke did an interview por EW in which she states it was her 100%. No body double used.

That forum has a lot of members who detest the series, mainly because it doesn't follow the books closely enough to suit them.

Looks like Ramsay is going to get tag team destroyed by Jon leading the Wildlings, Littlefinger and his Vale troops and possibly Yaya leading the Iron born. The Freys might be mad about Ramsay killing one of their own as well.

Little Lord Robin Arryn may be cut from the same psycho material as Joffrey and Ramsay. Robin likes death by moon door a little too much.

I think Theon may convince his sister to help John against Ramsay Bolton. Theon wants to atone and Yara ain't happy about losing men to that psycho.

The facial expressions in that scene were hilarious.

Too bad Loras doesn't have the power of the Iron Fist. He could punch his way out of that cell

I'm no fan of Cersei but I would happily see the faith militant fanatics destroyed.
