Considering we are all pretty much in the dark now, book readers and show watchers...

Start with some casting...

Howland Reed

Rhaegar Targaryen

This late in the game, who else is worth casting in the final stretch?

Locations...

Casterly Rock is all I care about at this point.

Predictions, hopes, etc...

I hope to see Euron own some ass for at least season 7.

I HOPE to see a Bran flashback of Rhaegar V Robert.

I don't want to see too many new characters with such little time left. Euron needs to be the main man in probably 2 of the remaining 13 episodes to have made it worthwhile introducing him. Rhaegar will need time too. With everything else going on there isn't room for much new stuff. I guess by the end of season 7 the final battle will have started with the wall either breached or fully coming down.

I'm horrible with fan casting, though I do think Reed should eventually make an appearance.

But here's the two main Plot threads:

Fall of Kingslanding: Mad Queen vs Dragon Queen, with the Lannister Bros trying to keep Kingslanding from burning to a crisp. Jaime's probably going to start out trying to convince Cersei to withdraw from the city while Tyrion tries to figure out how to take her down without letting her blow up the whole place, probably appealing to Dany on the grounds of "your niece and nephew died alongside thousands the last time this place was stormed, and that was when my brother kept it from all blowing up." I'm thinking we might have an actual siege for a while, with Tyriom and Varys trying to figure out if they can infiltrate somehow.

And I think that Cersei and Jaime might both survive the destruction of the Red Keep and takes us to, yes, Casterly Rock. And since the books have a bit of a hint towards something like this, maybe we see Brienne and Jaime vs the Mountain that Walks.

The North Resurgent. Littlefinger vs Jon, with Sansa hopefully allied with Jon. I don't think this is going to be pure violence; this should be our last real Game of Thrones political battle. Maybe Littlefinger tries to leverage the Vale and the Riverlands into weakening Jon's position or get another chance to assassinate him. And I figure that at least the Hound will make it North, though Arya might as well. I do hope there's an actual battle at the Wall to try and keep the White Walkers out.

I think Euron will hook up with Cersei now that Dany's out. That would give Euron some character development while allowing the KL crew (which is now down to just Jaime, Cersei, and Qhyburn) to interact with somebody new. Plus, someone's going to have to take on Dany's massive fleet.

As far as the North goes, I suspect there will be some friction between Jon and Sansa. Sophie Turner said in an interview that Sansa was annoyed not to get more credit from the Northern houses and she now views LF as being more trustworthy. Hopefully this storyline doesn't end with her betraying Jon.

If that's true, then I really hope they develope that idea better in Season 7; there's no way to read Sansa's decisions without making huge guesstimations, and most people seem to think the point of her look to Littlefinger after the acclamation of Jon was one of worry for her half-brother/cousin. There was no jealous gaze directed at Jon, and while they made Jon be an idiot during the Battle of the Bastards, he was completely accommodating to Sansa's objections and worries the night before. If they want her to have jealousy, there should be more scenes showing her experiencing at least some discomfort with Jon's accolades.

However, if they do start to establish Snasa as giving into a few of Littlefinger's evil whispers, I do know who should be the advisor to help her overcome that: The Hound. Sansa doesn't just have trust for the Hound, she understands him; the show especially had Turner give him an almost epiphanic look when she realized he wouldn't hurt her during Blackwater. And the Hound, while not exactly philosophical, has a good head on his shoulders and a very good grasp of straightforward thinking and observation. Plus, considering the development the show gave the Hound and Arya, he probably figures that Snasa really should be trusting Jon more, since he knows the family's good.

And of course, he was there when Littlefinger put a dagger to Ned's throat...

Again, I'm not saying that the Hound will be the political advisor to Sansa. I'm saying that he'd make a fine consigliere to her, though, and she might realize she needs that.

As far as casting goes, I think they'd go with an unknown for Rhaegar, much like Lyanna and young Ned. If they bring Howland Reed in, I could see them going for a more prominent actor. Rhys Ifans would be good. He'd be more or less age appropriate, and he bears some resemblance to the actor who played young Howland.

I have a suspicion that Euron will end up recruiting people from the Bay of Dragons that were against Danaerys rule. He's heading that way now. It would keep Essos somewhat relevant and let us get closer to the madman from the books. Now that Ramsay is gone, they can go full tilt with Euron's madness and establish his connection to the supernatural.

I'm also hoping we see an ice dragon. Looking at some of GRRM's inspirations for Ice and Fire (spoilers for Robin Hobb's Farseer Trilogy and Tawny Man Trilogy)
The main villain of these novels is an albino named the Pale Woman. Her armies are made up of "Forged Ones", people who've had their consciousness drained, leaving them as husks prone to violence and rape. She was using their consciousness, their souls if you will, to wake an army of stone dragons.
, I think we may see one on the white walker side of the war.

Something I just thought of. Call it a season 7 prediction. What if Jorah ends up at the Citadel searching for the cure for greyscale, and Sam is the one to cure him of it thanks to the skills he's learned from all the books he's had the time to read?

He sold her to Ramsay Bolton. It's not even a matter of trust, she should want to flay him at this point. But I'll see how they handle it.

IF Sansa is jealous, you can bet Littlefinger's going to use that to his advantage.

I think Sophie and D&D are full of crap with their post show interviews... in the scene she looks more happy than anything, it's not until Littlefinger is giving her to '**** you' look that she looks worried.

Just before that scene, Jon was offering Sansa the lords bedroom and calling her lady of winterfell...

Hell, it almost looked like Sansa put the King in the North idea in Lyanna head given the facial expressions.

I think IF there is tension, it's because Littlefinger says or does something else, not this king in the north stuff.

Yeah, I didn't really get the impression from that scene that she resented Jon. It looked more to me like she was suspicious that Littlefinger was going to stab them in back somewhere down the line. Maybe not, but I mean, Sansa doesn't have much of a right to be jealous. She withheld information from Jon that the Knights of the Vale could intervene, and it's not like she did any fighting herself. Yeah, Jon acted foolishly during the battle but he still led the army, fought valiantly and beat the living piss out of Ramsay.

Anyway, I know people have been shipping Jon and Dany, but I think Jon and Meera would make a more interesting couple. At the very least, they're not related. And they both have lost people who were important to them.

Isn't bran in love with meera? Or is that not a thing in the show?

Is he? Haven't gotten that far in the books but they haven't given that impression on the show.

I imagine Sansa and Jon will argue about how to best go forward and LF will exploit the tension between them.

That would be nice. Maybe too positive. But Sam will have to accomplish something important at the library. I'm thinking he might stumble upon Jon's lineage during his studies.

not sure how that would work out considering it is a secret... but... Ned was asking for a maester... so maybe it's on file but only maesters who have seen it know about it.

It's a very well kept secret, yeah. But surely there must be something hidden in there that could encourage Sam to put two and two together. He has basically all of the world's recorded knowledge in his grasp. Once you open up the possibility that Ned wasn't being truthful about the events at the Tower of Joy it all becomes fairly obvious. That's why the fans seemed to be able to guess it so early on.

Well... Littlefinger clearly knows the truth, too.. IMO... So who knows in the show is a coin toss really.

How Littlefinger knows is the question... He may not know about Jon being the son, but he certainly knows about Rhaegar and Lyanna running away together instead of her being kidnapped...

Yeah, I think he has part of the story but not all of it.

Unless he does. It's hard to know to a certainty.

I'd put very little stock in post-season interviews as most of them are experienced enough not to deliberately drop spoilers on future events and are more likely instead to just go along with whatever major speculation people are making at that point in time - especially if it's not the way the story is unfolding. I mean, anyone remember how Kit Harington was saying that Jon was so definitely dead at the end of last season?

Nah... if anything, Bran is just very under-standing. :D

Well... I expect you to stand by your words.
