Glorious news!

Like there was any doubt, but it's good to get official confirmation!

Woooo Hoooooo!
:supes:

:super: :super: :super: :super:

Here is an article at Variety & Supernatural is also returning

The CW has officially greenlit three dramas and two unscripted magazine shows — and it's looking like the sun is going down on "Veronica Mars."Definitely gone: "All of Us," the Will Smith-produced laffer that ran for three seasons on UPN and CW. Returning shows snagging official pickups: Laffers "Girlfriends" and "The Game," and dramas "Smallville," "Supernatural" and “One Tree Hill." CW picked up "Everybody Hates Chris" for a third season earlier this spring and while nothing's official, people familiar with the situation said "Mars" was, indeed, canceled.

As expected, execs at the Green net Tuesday called the producers of "Gossip Girl," "Reaper" and a remake of Blighty family drama "Wild at Heart" to give them the good news. After some last-minute snags, comedy "Aliens in America" also got the go-ahead Tuesday afternoon.

CW is moving forward with a pair of magazine style shows, both of which will likely air Sunday nights in the 7 p.m. timeslot. “Online Nation” is a sort of "America's Funniest Home Videos" for the YouTube generation, while “CW Now” is the net's "ET"-style look at pop culture.

On the scripted side, greenlight for "Gossip Girl" gives exec producer Josh Schwartz his second series order this sea-son. It’s a quick comeback for Schwartz, whose last hit—Fox's "The OC"— left the air in February.

From Al - per www.comicscontinuum.com

"I think in many ways Season 6 was our strongest season to date," Smallville executive producer Al Gough told The Continuum. "And after Season 5, I wasn't sure that was possible.

"Season 7 is exciting and daunting, because we want to continue to grow and evolve the show, and really reward the long-time fans who have been watching...so stay tuned."

LOL! Anyone else thinking, "WHICH long-time fans?" There are so many factions in this fandom.

Glad Al agrees with me about S6. ;) Now if only he'd listen to me about Clark and Lana. *cough*

I don't think he's talking about a particular fandom per se, more like those people who started watching from the start and never missed an episode since, regardless their ship.

I actually agree with him. The episodes this year have been very strong, I've found it difficult ranking them in that other thread. But the overall theme for the season wasnt as riveting as last season.

I had the same feeling about season 3. There were some great episodes, but the overall theme was very dark and gloomy. I think that tends to happen when we focus on the Luthor's.

I loved Season 4, because it was so bright and full of promise for Clark, with the FOS being the big payoff.

Aw, c'mon Kal. Can't you tell when I'm funnin' by now? :(

My guess would be that they are going to move Clark on to Superhood in a much more significant way. Perhaps even a change of location - Metropolis? World tour? FOS? As far as his love life... all bets are off. They'll either have a final (maybe) season of angst free Clana - leading to their mutual realizations about having to let go, or perhaps Lana will be out of the picture completely and stay that way - leaving Clark to sow some oats while working more with Lois on investigative stuff and slowly falling in love with her.

Those are my specs. Next?

It would be nice if Season 7 had Clark fighting crime. And trying to find a balance and a way to successfully do that, without putting his family and friends in danger (ie exploring secret identity).

I'd also love to see some more DC cameos, also. I don't know if i'm the only one thinking this, but it'd be nice to see like, John Henry Irons or someone, and what they're doing now.

There's just so much i'd like to see happen. It's hard to speculate without just 'wishing'

Thats been the plot of smallville since the first episode.:o

really? because I was under the impression the show was about Clark protecting his family and friends from threats while trying to hide who he is, from the beginning. I'm referring to more, finding trouble, and stopping it. The way Ollie referred to it, as not letting the problems come to him.

Clark spent the better half of 6 years being defensive. It's time for him to go on the offensive a bit.

Hes been on the offensive, but I fail to see what you actually want him to do in season 7?

Clark has stopped plenty of crimes in his time. But essentially either his friends were at the center of the problem, or he's stumbled across it. They've worked him into seeking out issues in season 6 but that was mainly due to his hunt for the phantoms which were a problem he created.

Please let it be true. The final words of the 'Phantom' review, maybe I'm just overexcited got me thinking about this:

If he stops the Phantoms... Martha goes to DC... Lana dies... maybe, just maybe: "Father! I AM READY!"

I think he means like the beginning of Combat when Martha commented on him fighting the meteor freaks that were robbing a bank or something.

YAYYYYYYYY!!!!!! TO CELEBRATE, ,LETS KILL LIONEL LUTHOR!! *ANGRY MOB CHEERES AND GOES AFTER LIONEL!*lol:woot::oldrazz:

No Clark questions. :( But more Lois and mythology does sound good. So it's not a complete loss.

Not really an enthralling interview, but I'm excited for the character announcement in late summer.

I sure as hell do not believe Al when he says Season 8 will be the last. Especially since him & others have said for the last 5 years that Season 7 would be the last :whatever:

I Can't say I'm surprised , Despite the many flaws this series has . It's still an awesome show . :cwink:

More Lois next year, possibly more GA/JLA (anybody know if Hartley's pilot was picked up?) another DC character, and new relationships. Oh my stars and garters. I'm psyched!!!! :D

I read that Hartley's pilot was NOT picked up.

And it sounds more and more like Lana will be the one to take the big dirt nap next season.

*sigh*
