The Flash Season 7x15: Enemy At the Gates

Synopsis:

When an army of Godspeeds attack Central City, Barry and Iris must put their family plans on hold and focus on the latest threat to their home; Chillblaine is released from prison and claims to be reformed but Frost has her doubts

Obviously chillblaine will have received a Team Flash pep talk whilst locked up. That's usually how the bad guys are defeated if late, right?

Godspeed(s) will probably suffer the same fate too, and eventually Thawne.

Yeah, they have a bad tendency of turning every criminal into an allie. Like that happens every day. But nice to see Barry will be back for a full episode. Enough playing hanky-panky with the Mrs for a while!

The show has officially been brought off of my "must watch live" list. Hopefully this new arc is good.

Definitely one of the better episodes this season. The Godspeed arc is off to a strong start and I'm enjoying Joe's little subplot as well.

This show has become exhausting. While this is probably one of the better episodes this season it still failed to bring any real joy.

Why is Iris/Candace absent yet again? They definitely made us aware that Iris is home sick, feels like it was every other sentence out of Barrys mouth. Why are they playing up the pregnancy for laughs? I'm not understanding that. All of the awkwardness with Barry in the beginning was downright exhausting, it isn't cute, it isn't funny. Is it because they think that because Flash is considered a family show that they have to play it for laughs and make it rated G?

The Godspeed storyline has been played out, lets get to the point, its been 2 years now that we've been dealing with this character. I don't remember if there's always been a forcefield around Starlabs? Though unless Godspeed(s) have super strength, them punching it shouldn't have as much affect on it as it did throughout it. I also don't understand why we have two ice based characters and for some reason they decide "it's better to punch the bad guys instead of freezing them and putting them on ice. Even when Godspeeds are standing there getting their vibrations on, Snow and Chillblaine guy just sit there waiting for their deaths! At least try!

The Esperanza storyline...it was kind of funny because during the operation all we see is Caitlin bending over, holding a scalpel, and no actual surgery lol. And of course Cecile gains a new extension of her powers just in the right time. Gotta love it.

why doesn't Barry just go to cvs and buy a pregnancy kit instead of doing a weird science lab experiment? Outside of godspeed and flash the rest is just ignorable on this show now. Not trying to be mean but when flash and godspeed weren't on screen I was just checking my phone.

I did chuckle when the force field was deployed and wondered where that came from and who how the heck is star labs still open and who pays for all of this? Does anyone else work there at this point?

I think Barry said something about meta DNA interfering with regular tests. Due to the large number of metahumans, there probably are commercially-available tests for them, if they're willing to publicly "come out" as metas.

Based on Barry's obsession in this episode, I wouldn't be surprised if he and Iris already tried the regular kits several times, got negative as the result each time, and then Barry decided "But that can't be right, I had a dream!"

Iris' absence in the latest episode was certainly very strange, especially with the phone calls. They'd have been better off having Barry just not be on the phone to her.

Anyone actually know why Candice wasn't in this episode at all? They didn't even use her voice when Barry was talking to her in their flat.

The Godspeed civil war arc is certainly a change of scenery; almost fresh. I'm intrigued what's going on here.

I realize in the comics godspeed was fast, but yet barry still seems to be outmatched by every speedster.

Originally when he first met godspeed way back barry was way faster than him, being able to run past him do a turn around and cloth line godspeed.

After barry got all the forces back together into the speedforce, Nora specifically said to barry that he's now faster than he's ever imagined with all 4 forces being a part of him now.

Yet godspeed still outran barry fairly easily, even though barry had to go up against multiple godspeeds each of them out ran barry so where is his newfound godly like speedforce powers that nora told him he now has.....if the writers want to make barry powerful they need to do more than just have characters verbally say it, barry has to actually display doing stuff other speedsters can not do.

it's abit frustrating when barry has the most interaction with the speedforce yet he's still portrayed slower than all of them, the guy just supposedly got a massive boost in power he should've been able to out run godspeed without even trying....also godspeed to me is just another version of zoom, another speedster the desire to be faster and steal others speed, I mean literally the same story one wears a black outfit the other white....at this point i think the show is starting to drag on and there hasn't been very many exciting episodes to keep me interested, like the writers are just pulling whatever stories they can think of.....I'm sorry but every villain is a speedster and it's really redundant writing at this point in the series.

Comics Godspeed was one of the best characters to be introduced in the past 10 years. He has a terrific backstory and is one of the most intriguing speedsters out there.

This show missed the mark in not using that backstory. They easily could have used either Julian or Eddie Thawn in the place of August Heart and made them Godspeed given their relationships with Barry.
