season 8 anyone?
where,why,what?

lets milk smallville and lets make the last season the worst. i would make season 6 the last, i could understandh 7 but 8? come on. lets be real please.

Season 8? Really?

I'd say they should go for it. At this point the show's quality isnt as relevant. It has it's own loyal fanbase of 4-5mil that will watch it no matter now bad some episodes get.

I'd say they should end it when Rosenbaum wants to leave.

I would be up for season 8 only if they could keep on pulling out great episodes. For the first half of season 6 I felt like Smallville had lost its touch, but now it has come back with the past 4 episodes and they are amazing some of Smallville's finest and definitely the best of this season so far.I just don't want this show's quality to decay.I do think they could milk it for two more seasons,it would be difficult but it's possible.

If it did go on for two more seasons they would have to get rid of Lana before the end of season 6 or the start of season 7.Plus Chloe and Lionel must eventually be disposed of towards the end of season 7 or the beginning of 8.Those few things must be carried for the show to stay fresh and last for two more seasons. After all the show is about Clark's journey to becoming Superman,it's not centered around Lana or Chloe and for the show to progress and stay alive they need to resolve these characters.

C'mon people. We're only halfway through the 6th season, and a 7th - though extremely likely at this point - hasn't even been officially announced yet. It's great the producers are keeping their options open and planning what-if scenarios for future seasonal arcs (kinda nice to hear actually since they're so often accused of flying by the seat of their pants), but ya gotta figure the show would be very different post S7. Based on interviews, articles and gut instinct, I get the feeling Welling, O'Toole, Mack and Durance are in it for the long haul. Kreuk and Rosenbaum probably want out, however. That's a HUGE cast shake up.

No definitives here - I'd love the show to continue past S7 - but I think CW would have to be re-heeeeeeeeely hard up to do that. The producers are probably in it for as long as the money is there, and therein lies part of the problem...

As much as I love the show and I really love it, I want it to end on Season 7 (UNLESS season 8 will have Clark already working in Metropolis in the Daily Planet) while they're still on top. They will leave us with 7 years of great memories but it's becoming time for Tom Welling to become Superman once and for all.

I want An 8th but thts it clarks not just clark kent forever he has to become superman eventually an clarks gotta be wat now 19?...20? they gotta end by the time hes 22 an have to show him fly screw the no tight no flight rule thats so dumb finish season 6 regularly an in season 7 let him at least start free lancing at the daily planet show him and jimmy getting closer him and lois getting closer have jor-el show him the full extent of his powers an show him starting to save more then just smallville keep it generally in smallville but it would be cool to see him start to take on some natural disaters plane crashes an SUPER villians iam sure they can bring some cool charcaters in for the show lobo? parasite? an i always wanted lex to mess upon trying to clone clark an bring in bizzaro idk though some of these things need to happen to keep the show alive for two more season so we ll see wat happens

I absolutely love Smallville and I'll be gutted when it finally ends. Having said that I don't think I want it continuing into an 8th season. i think they could pull of 7 seasons but after that I think they'll just be dragging it out and i wouldn't want my faviourite show to finish on a low.

Y'know, people were worried that the show was getting stale back in the fourth season. Many said they should just wrap it up with Clark's graduation and the creation of the FOS and be done with it. Then the fifth season came along - the "everything you wanted to see" season - and the song didn't change . The argument was, pull out all the stops and end big. Now we're in the sixth season. Most eps have been very good and some, particularly the last three, have been off the chain, yet people are still worried they'll be dragging things out beyond seven? I may not like every story line, but I don't see the show getting stale either. They mix things up, keep multiple balls in the air, and continue to introduce new characters and storylines. As a fan, I'm in this for the long haul, and I hope they'll go as long as they can given the setting and time frames within which they have to work.

They should have ended it last year

Why? Did Raph get stiffed out of his paycheck or something?

If you're bored with the show, stop watching it. It does however bring a ton of coin to your city and the profession to which you aspire. The mind boggles why you wouldn't want it to do continue. But hey, whatever blows your skirt up. :yay:

I just think they're milkin it to much

I'd like to see them go for 10 whole seasons... That would be awesome!
This season has been pretty darn good to.

Actually it would be cool for Lex to leave the show with Lana after season 6 or 7, and not have him back on as a regular but only once in a while as a special guest, and focus the show more around Lois & Clark.
Have a diffrent badguy for a while, and maybe have more of the JLA guys... :)

I could see that working, and actually id like the show to run 10 seasons... But that's just me I guess heh...

100% agree. That would rock. I'm with ya, Fanboy. :D

Now don't get me wrong, I'm in this for the long haul as well and I do know the episodes and overall seasons have been great, I just prefer that they end it in 7, that should give them plenty of time to wrap things up. Because even though things have been great, it just feels that they are constantly delaying the inevitable. I truly think that the thing with Lana (for instance) not knowing the secret in Reckoning was because of the producers delaying it to drag the story for a couple more seasons. Had the show had it's last season in 5 she would have known.

Guys check this out Lana might not come back for season 8

Kristin Kreuk (who stars as Lana Lang on "Smallville") was interviewed by The Province regarding her new movie "Partition", and made some revealing comments (with some spoilers) about up-coming episodes of "Smallville" and her thoughts on future seasons for the show. Here are some excerpts from the interview...

Kristin Kreuk, in a strapless wedding dress, has just tossed a bouquet over her shoulder after coming down down the steps of a church at Burrard and 15th with Michael Rosenbaum.

"Lana's pregnant right now with Lex's child, so they just got married," she says, ducking back inside the warm church for a quick chat. The wedding is the latest plot twist in her sixth season as Lana Lang in the WB's Smallville, the TV series that made her famous. "It's getting convoluted -- the end of the season'll be interesting."

Work on Smallville continues until April, and she'll be back for a seventh season after a three-month break. After that, she'll keep her options open. "They're talking about eight. I'll probably stick around until the end of seven and then my contract is up. I think I might move on, but I don't know, we'll see what happens.

I say lets move on and on season 8 make Clark travel the world

My only problem with eight is it seems like theyve timestamped the show now.

Clark basically said after all the zoners are captured, he's leaving Smallville to train with Jor-El (which sounds like the final episode right there).

It's going to be hard to stretch the Zoner hunt out to another 2 seasons.

And if he's leaving to train in the Fortress with Jor-El, its very unlikely he will travel the world in this version. When he leaves the Fortress, he will be Superman of course.

heh personally I feel they should have ditched Lana after season 4... But she's still around, and personally I wouldn't mind her leaving the show, and the show going on.

The story eventually is about Lois & Clark falling in love so Lana being there all the time to get stalked just has gotten real old, and not needed.

heh good to see were on the same page Pat! :woot::up:

I always figured this show would go for eight seasons. Why? Well, isn't Clark "supposed" to graduate from college at the end of season 8? If HE IS going to college. So, my logic is that the show would end with him getting his journalism degree. Then we get a montage of his training at the fortress. And, the show would end with him being employeed at the Daily Planet AND FINALLY seeing him in the suit.

And if he's leaving to train in the Fortress with Jor-El, its very unlikely he will travel the world in this version. When he leaves the Fortress, he will be Superman of course.

Exactly Clark traveling the world more then likely not happen at all going by the stories they have set up. I would say the best thing fans can hope for after Smallville is a "Metropolis" series. But traveling the world is pretty much out of the question

i am a huge lost and prison break fan. but i am realistic. i think prison break should end after season 3. lost. 6 seasons? come on.
realistic.

they can make as many season they want. or they could make a date when to end it. that way they have control. would you rahter having them making episodes until they cna? then when the numbers are extreme low they will chancel it and end it in two episodes. then oyu have a bad ending. you can have control and devote a whole season to the ending and that way the series could be remembered as an series that told the story they had not like a series that was chanceled.

Season 8? I don't know. SV, I think, is becoming kinda streeched out. They could always have Clark become Supes at the end of season 7 and then for season 8 change the name of the show.

Is this going to happen every year? Discussing things that are supposed to happen 2 years from now?

It's not a matter of being realistic, if they can do it they will, it's as simple as that. SV has an established fanbase and they (we) will continue to watch no matter what, for a reason or another.

We don't even know what they have in mind for Season 7 let alone Season 8, and we're in the middle of Season 6.
