I fail to see how this could possibly fail. The Fantastic Four and X-Men teaming up to take on the Beyonder while Doctor Doom and Magneto both go their separate ways due to their inability to work together followed by Doctor Doom stealing Beyonder's power.
X-Force could play the role of the Avengers and Alpha Flight or X-Factor can take the place of the Inhumans. Spider-Man's role would be filled by Deadpool. The story seriously writes itself and watching Cyclops and Reed Richards come to blows over who leads would be really, really cool to see.
It's also an excuse to get mutants from the past (Gambit, Quicksilver and Havok) into the present day that would make sense and not feel contrived. That plus Secret Wars being one of the most iconic storylines ever. I mean, why hasn't Fox greenlit this yet?
Mark Millar saying that there's crossover planned is a missed opportunity for what may be the biggest Marvel film yet. And even then, why Fantastic Four vs. the X-Men when you could have Secret Wars?
