Seem familiar?

if you define responsibility as jeapordizing the lives of your wife and elderly aunt by outing yourself at a press conference.

Spidey is a scientist... he knows other scientists... Im sure he can pull a Venture Bros. and clone em, keep a few copies around for 'in case'.

"Look, if you have a clumsy child, you make him wear a helmet. If you have death prone children, you keep a few clones of them in your lab!" - Dr Venture

Im not talking about your post.

And Spiderman's powers aren't mystically derived from a totemic spider-god...
We're all in denial about something. :)

What if Reed retired and became a yoga instructor... that poor class. :(

that bollocks reed story and y he's pro-sided is cos they just needed all the scientists on one side so that they cud *** up with their "big solution", whatever it turns out to be.just like they needed spidey to go pro-registration first.

its all out of character, but it helps marvels event.

i hate the refernces to tony and pete "coming out". sounds like something out of the young avengers pages ;)

That's because Reed's not being a *****e and backing the wrong side there. ;)

Thanks, the Monk marathon today is kicking ass. :)
You're watching a Monk marathon on the 4th of July? I mean, I love Monk too, but with you, i mean, combined with the whole being half-Arab thing...I don't want to be a racist, but you know...you just better not be eating any hummus tonight, punk:mad:

How does Reed get off being so high and mighty about following the law to the letter anyway? Didn't he and his friends steal a government rocket so they could joyride in space? Or am I thinking of someone else?
While I doubt itll be mentioned, from my perspective, Im taking his attitude as something coming off from his experience after taking over Latveria (in Waid's Authoratative Action arc).

It would be pretty damn cool if they brought this up, along with the comic in the first post.

Heh, I actually had a chemistry teacher in high school who said that. "I didn't go to graduate school to be called 'mister.'" Ah, memories. What a *****e.
*****e Phillips always regretted the day he tried to clarify his position in society:(

Man... Reed Richards has multiple doctorates and he's called MISTER fantastic.
Victor Von Doom, meanwhile has no official degree, was kicked out of school and still he gets to be called Doctor.
LoL
Take that Richards! Score one for Doom.

One of my college physics teachers was the same way. What an ass. He couldn't teach that class either. Usually it was a few of us students who were answering all the questions for him, while he was visibly going along such as, "Right, right. Good job. Now, who knows what reaction on a negative scale this would bring?" What a jerk. That doctor title was not earned, so none of us called him by it. Pissing him off was awesome.

"You want me to believe that I should pass a student who doesn't understand the simple dynamics of thermal energy collection?"

"Wasn't the test on atomic collision prediction?" And he's just get red in the face and spring a pop quiz on us. *******.

bwahahahahahahaha, nerdiest joke ever:D

Well, the jerk didn't even have the right chapter to rant on this guy about. Seeing how that test was all the way at the beginning of the semester, and this was our second to last chapter out of thirteen chapters.

more to the point, it makes Straczynski come off like an idiot.

Heh. Therein lies the problem. In order to be able to write the smartest man alive any way accurately, you'd have to be the smartest man alive yourself. Which... well - without being mean - the writers at Marvel ain't.

That's not the problem, the problem I see in it is that JMS is seemingly liberal-leaning, and that probably makes it harder for him to write a character conservatively and accurately convey his reasoning. Clearly, this whole event is going to be liberal-leaning, but I think the writers should at least try to make right-sided heroes seem like idiots and actually make them seem somewhat logical.

Funnily enough in the UK, Surgeons who are doctors, and are higher up the medical pecking order than regular doctors - are called Mr.... and Doctors are called Dr.... They have more medical qualifications but still are called Mr - go figure

That's what I figured, too. I tend to lean to the liberal side myself, and every reason I come up with for people to support the SHRA just sounds ridiculous to me. JMS seems to be having a similar problem with Reed.
