SEGA has announced that the next three titles in the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise will be Nintendo exclusives,
starting with the newly announced: "Sonic Lost World"

The promo pic looks interesting. Reminds me of Mario Galaxy.

I wonder.. could the next three Sonic titles be an Avengers-style lead-in to a Sonic/Mario platformer?

Ugh. Meant to put "SEGA/Nintendo" in the headline. =\

They also announced a new Winter Olympics Mario/Sonic game too.

About damn time...Seriously...If this leads up to a "World Collide" platformer staring these two I'll be extremely happy.

Let's just hope that the Wii U doesn't share the same fate as the Gamecube.

I really like that promo pic, but I probably won't be getting this game. The Wii-U doesn't really have a good library of games, IMO.

Actually, Gamecube sales are tracking well ahead of the Wii U so far.

To put how horrible the Wii U sales have been in perspective, think about the PS3. Think about how it was widely perceived as an abject failure the first couple of years of its existence. Okay? Well, the PS3 sales have never dipped below 80k in a month. The Wii U sales last month were 36k, and they've only been a few thousand higher in the months preceding that.

Nothing sold like the PS2. Well, except the Nintendo DS.

The thing about Sonic is, that unlike Mario (the main titles, that is), the quality is really inconsistent. Games range anywhere between great, good, average and outright bad.

How has no one said "Sega does what Nintendon't" yet?

Darn, distribution only? When I read the title I thought it meant Nintendo was going to be working on it with them. That's disappointing.

Nintendo-exclusive Sonic games (like Sonic and the black knight, or the one where he's in ancient Persia or whatever) have typically been pretty bad, although Sonic Colors was pretty good.

And yes a combination Mario/Sonic straight up platformer is long overdue. There's obviously no legal hurdles but instead of doing something like that they choose to make these stupid Olympic party games instead.

I dunno, there have been more awful Sega games than there have been good ones lately. I loved the Sonic games as a kid, but my interest has really waned. I'll wait and see on this one.

The difference between the Gamecube and the Wii U is that there was nothing the Gamecube could do to save itself, either that or Nintendo just didn't know what to do. However, Nintendo can still salvage the Wii U because... boy, do they have the ammunition.

Never before has Nintendo had such an anticipated bunch of games waiting to be shown... and ALL at the same time. I mean A new 3D Mario game, a new Mario Kart, a new Super Smash Bros, a remake of a beloved Zelda game, an exclusive Sonic game, a new IP straight from Miyamoto himself... and all of these will be reveal AT THE SAME TIME. The hype for the Wii U's future will be through the roof.

This is all absolutely correct, which is why any time someone starts spouting off that the Wii U is dead I just roll my eyes. Also, you forgot to mention the brand spankin' new Zelda game on the way. That's just what we know about. I'm sure Nintendo has way more than that up their sleeves.

I didn't forget the new Zelda, I just don't know if it will be shown at E3... and if it is:

Eh, it doesn't look bad, but it doesn't look great either.

it reminds me of mario galaxy mixed with the cancelled sonic xtreme :D

Yeah, I was thinking that myself.

I like that Sonic's feet once again spin in a circle, like in the Genesis days.

It looks good. They obviously have the graphic power to make it look much more detailed than it does, but they're going for the speed and playability moreso.

Looks like a mix of Sonic Colors and Mario Galaxy...Which...is NOT a bad thing.

i like the look of this new sonic game..i love me some sonic!
