Brandon Routh and Bryan Singer Tease "Superman Returns" Sequel

Posted by RT-News on Friday, Nov. 17, 2006, 12:25 AM

Ftopel writes: "At the DVD launch party for "Superman Returns," Brandon Routh continued offering teases for the as yet unwritten sequel, The Man of Steel. This time, he speculated on who a new villain might be.

"There's a lot of talk about Braniac," said Routh. "Everyone wants to see Braniac. But I'll tell you what, in the video game 'Superman Returns,' you can play as Bizarro. Bizarro's pretty fun. I would lean towards one of those. Braniac, there's a lot of possibilities there. He's another mastermind villain so he can create any number of evil things."

Inside the party, Bryan Singer could be overheard suggesting the sequel will be two hours and seven minutes with lots of action. He also promised to give Tristan Lake Leabu, who plays the young superkid, a lot to do.

How the hell did he come up with 2h 7 min at this stage?

Thanks for the link :)

There is NO POSSIBLE WAY anyone could have any idea how long the sequel will be at this stage. Certainly not to that degree. I'm sure Warner Bros may say to Singer, "No more than 2 hours 15 mins," but the idea that Singer know, "2 hours 7 mins,".....no-one knows exactly how long a movie will be until it's been edited. And there is not even a script for Supes 6 yet.

Exactly Kevin ;)

LOL Singer is just playing with people expectation there :D ;)

I doubt this is true. How could Singer come up with a runtime 3 years prior to release?

Lower budget, Lower running time, sounds to me that this is shaping up into another nice little train wreck waiting to happen...

The WB really needs to learn how to handle their movie properties better.

By the way how about doing something that has'nt been done yet guys!? I mean we got Braniac on Smallville last season, and he will be back soon im sure.

So why not go another direction, and show us a badguy who we havent seen!?

Bizzaro is alright as a second badguy or third but he wouldnt work as the only badguy.
Then again im sure Lex will be back to try, and take over more land... This could shape up to be Superman 4 all over again!
Except Bizzaro will be taking over the role of Nuclear Man!

YIKES!

Yea I pick my nose alot also...

Now did I lie in my post? No! So whatever I wasn't bashing I was being realistic...... How can they expect to put more action in the movie with a lower budget, and a smaller running time.
I mean from what ive been reading it sounds like its gonna be all action, and no again no substance.... They had a great chance to get it right on SR, and they failed.. They arent exactly going in the right direction for the sequel.

Yeah no way anyone can absolutly know whats happening at this point with anything...anything that is out there right now is just speculation.

If I were WB and I wanted to make a movie that would blow all the other movies away by a longshot, they should start thinkn about making the death and life of Superman. They have the capability to create a movie with DOOMSDAY now but of course if they do that thats the last Superman movie that they will ever make. That should be along term plan. Who wouldn't want to see Doomsday take down the Man of Steel and the Justice league without Kryptonite. That would be a great movie just for special affects alone.

Short term...ok. Bizaro is just weird, and childish. Its great that he has the same powers as Superman but imagine a movie where a guy is running around saying "me like Superman, me save people by destroying Metropolis." It would be odd and boring. They can probably introduce Eclipso...that set of comics was pretty cool. Because it is superman but under the power of eclipso...so you would have the justice league trying to stop Superman from destroying everything. Maybe leave that for a show...I dunno...kinda like red Kryptonite. What about Mongul, for a sequel...wouldn't be too bad. Anyway, Lex Luthor is the only one really entertaining to watch...besides that Doomsday would be great...

I'll stop I don't know what there planning but those are some ideas that are out there.

Jackslata!:ninja:

If you not playing World of Warcraft your missing out. :hyper:
