Never saw the original or the play but they have some good talent attatched in the leads. Kevin Hart is hilariousSteve Pink, who is best known for working with John Cusack on movies such as Grosse Pointe Blank, High Fidelity and Hot Tub Time Machine, is now in talks to direct the remake of About Last Night. The film, like the original, is based on the David Mamet 1974 play Sexual Perversity in Chicago, and Leslye Headland, who most recently wrote the script for the dark comedy Bachelorette, recently turned in a new script for the redo.
Unlike the original, which starred the likes of Rob Lowe and Demi Moore, the remake will have a predominantly black cast that will include comedians such as Kevin Hart, Michael Ealy and Regina King. THR, which reported the news about Pink potentially directing the feature, says that Will Gluck (director of Easy A and Friends With Benefits), is producing the project. The story is about a man and a woman who begin to fall in love, but find their relationship complicated by their friends.
This is actually the second time that Pink's name has come up in connection to an upcoming comedy. Late last month we learned that he is also in talks to direct Bad Santa 2, the sequel to Terry Zwigoff's 2003 film about a drunken mall Santa who likes to rob his employers.
So how will Pink's schedule play out? The About Last Night remake has been picking up a lot of steam as of late, but production on Bad Santa 2 is expected to begin later this year. Looks like he is going to be pretty damn busy these next few months.

EDIT: Meant to type Sexual Perversity in Chicago in the title
