"Shadow and Bone" series in the works from Netflix

Anybody start Season 2 yet? I was originally planning to only watch like half of the episodes yesterday and ended up pretty much binging the whole season which honestly went by way faster than I thought it would.

For me this is still one of the best fantasy shows out there and probably my overall favorite right now because outside of GOT/HOTD I'm definitely enjoying it more than both ROP and The Witcher.

I love the worldbuilding and they definitely know how to balance a lot of characters while also making sure to give each of them their moments to shine and I can't wait to see more.

Hopefully, it doesn't get cancelled but knowing Netflix it probably will.
Oh nice, it’s already out! Damn, need to get on that this weekend then. Glad to see you enjoyed it. I’ll be seriously bummed if this gets cancelled.

Not started it yet but fully intend to watch it. Really liked the first season.

I started season 2. Great to be back in this world. Really like the characters.

So there are a lot of books left to cover after season 2 is done? Would be nice if they got through all of the books through the life of the show.

Nice, I’ll take one.

Got a bit too busy this weekend so only got through 1 and a half episodes. Hopefully can progress more during the week and finish by next weekend.

So there are a lot of books left to cover after season 2 is done? Would be nice if they got through all of the books through the life of the show.

There are the main books:

The Grisha Trilogy
Shadow and Bone
Siege and Storm
Ruin and Rising

Six of Crows Duology
Six of Crows
Crooked Kingdom

King of Scars
King of Scars
Rule of Wolves

complimentary tales:
The Language of Thorns: Midnight Tales and Dangerous Magic
The Lives of Saints
Demon in the Wood

The Six of Crows pair are my favorite. I've read them at least twice. More of a heist story and somehow even though the story is told through muliple POVs, each character has their own voice and personality in their chapters. I've read King of Scars twice as well but was disappointed in a lot of Rule of Wolves. Surprisingly to me, Zoya became one of my favorite characters of the whole series.

i thought i'd made a thread about the series in Books and Music, but if i did, i cannot find it.

Thanks for that!

Seems like plenty of material to get through then if they plan on future seasons - which they better be!m

I want to see if there are audiobooks for these.

Just finished the season. Massive improvement over the first, even though I liked that a lot. Story flowed smoother, some really great action scenes and visuals. Some really great lines too, like "He is not my weakness, he is my universe." I read some changes were made to the books, what were they?

i am halfway through the season and am enjoying it. ketterdam is still far more interesting to me, but i've also really enjoyed seeing more of the kingdom like Novyi Zem.

i've noticed some changes and deviations from the book as well as things from the book happening out of order but nothing has really irked me so far.

i think the actor playing Tolya was Shatterstar in Deadpool 2? Not exactly what i pictured, but he plays off his twin well. i can dig it

i have 2 episodes left and it's still entertaining enough. i've noticed more changes and adds, but for spoiler's sake i won't discuss them yet. some of these i don't like as much as the others, but we will see

Man, this is actually pretty devastating IMO, but I had a feeling this would happen. I haven't heard many people mention or react to this show yet and usually that's a bad sign especially after two seasons.

It's sad because its one of the few great fantasy shows out there.

There seemed to be plenty of talk after season 1. Season 2 though seemed to come and go with little impact. Still a damn shame it got cancelled.
Yeah it doesn't take much for Netflix to cancel a show after the initial buzz has died down, unfortunately regardless of quality. Sad for all the talented people involved in making this.

Definitely. And it was a show that actually seemed to be going somewhere. Shame
