I like it so far. I am going to enjoy this book because I know its not going to last. It will be lucky to see issue #24! ...lol
It has a kooky cast of 2nd/3rd stringers, which I like.

What does everyone else think?

I like it its fun which is what I want sense im tired of depressing stories in comics that have been goong on lately.

Eh, I'm not gonna bother until I have confirmation that Willingham actually knows the characters he's writing.

Dirty! and correct.

Is this comic like Shadowpact? 'CAuse I'm giving Shadowpact a chance mostly for Blue Devil.:D:up:

It's Shadowpact. As in a dark, arcane agreement. Not a pack of shadows. Just thought I'd clear that up.

I liked the first issue. I don't really think Willingham's art fits with the tone of the book, but I respect the fact that he kind of thinks of it as his baby and wants to do everything on it from start to finish. I didn't know much about any of the characters besides Blue Devil before the Day of Vengeance mini, so I haven't noticed any out of character stuff. Given that they're all magic characters and magic's been going haywire due to the transition between ages, you could assume that the personality differences are due to some weird magic conundrum or something, though.

Hows Dectective Chimp in this? Is he like how he was in DoV? He was my favorite part in that. They should make a Detective chimp book. Hes great.

I don't think Detective Chimp would work without the stoic do-gooders he surrounds himself with.

The biggest offense is his work on Nightshade, who doesn't actually have magic powers.

Sorry, Harl, but that can be argued since her mother was the princess from a magical dimension. She also had a Succubus bonded to her for a while which later on got taken out if I'm not mistaken. If her powers were a result of the development of a metagene due to the crossbreeding of a human (her dad) and a human from a magical dimension (her mom) it would be news to me since her mom told her that her powers were a legacy. I DO agree in that her powers were never to be a kind of Black (instead of Green) Lantern. The

Enchantress also got a pretty hefty boost of her powers in the mini considering that her powers consisted of matter manipulation and I think it had to be on inorganic things. Still, we don't see that many spellcasters in DC so I don't mind her doing the hocus pocus bit. I really look forward to the series and am anxious to see what happened to BD for him to get his old look back. "Magic changed" as an explanation would be too weak for me. I really miss the Justiniano's art, though; and missed it even more after seeing The Creeper preview at Newsarama.:(

I'll give you the Nightshade bit, but going from veteran government operative to rookie? Same way with what he did to Enchantress. I have absolutely no idea what he did there, but that isn't Enchantress. I might have missed some changes with her, but it's just plain odd. Also absolutely no mention of the Nightshade-Enchantress sharing a body thing (which is the Succubus thing you mentioned). I'm not even talking about their powers yet.

The guy just can't write these characters.

i think the book pretty much sucked. i was expecting days of vengeance type story telling but this book was a bad start. the characterization didnt feel right to me. the art doesnt really impress me either. huge dissapointment for me.

Yeah, I was expecting that too. I didn't buy it cuz of that. I only flipped through it in the stores and read a preview of it. That was enough to make me not wanna buy it. I almost bought it for Detective Chimp though.

?????

Are you asking me if I'm going to pay money for a comic with Detective Chimp in it? Is that what I'm hearing from you, thread?

i thought it was fun, as long as it has a few laughs along the way, i'll keep reading.

Not sure if I liked it.

The mini was ok, and now they look dorky as hell (especially the Chimp and Blue Devil.)

I'm thinking that they are going to ruin another good idea.

First one was a good set up issue. Nothing spectacular, but nothing crappy either. I'll definitely continue to pick this title up.

i liked the first issue. i'm only new to these characeters so they are pretty interesting to me. really like Chimp and Blue Devil, i'm going to keep picking this up, but i seriously doubt it will be around for too long :(

I think it stands a decent shot. If it were a Marvel mini-series it'd be canceled by the third issue, but at DC it stands a chance of staying in production long enough to build a following. It's a great premise, after all.
