As many of you may know, during Wolverine's "visit" to Atlantis, Namor told Wolverine that Nitro was injected with a Mutant Growth Hormone. Interestingly, MGH was developed by Walter Declun, CEO of Damage Control. Is it possible that the CEO of Damage Control somehow, indirectly but purposely, started the Civil War so his company can get reconstruction projects?

I suspect this because Civil War is supposed to be a political allegory of today's America. Since many people suspect the Iraq War was a way for Bush's friends to make money, I therefore assume the writers got their ideas from this.

it might be that way joey q can be telling the truth when he says there's no SUPERVILLIAN behind the civil war

Maybe. But that wouldn't mean he had planned the SRA or how ridiculously the heroes have reacted to it. Unless he has a mind controler on his payroll to manipulate key figures like SHEILD Director Hill, Tony, and Cap to insure furthur chaos.

Insert: Maxwell Lord
Insert: Crisis
And we had a super-hero publicly kill both men. Wow, way to be original Marvel

yeah...but Infnite Crisis sucked...the art was incredibly inconsistent, the entire thing was rushed, and one of the main plot points was Emo Superboy punching the universe and causing continuity errors...

Infinite Crisis wasnt even original, they did it 20 years ago:huh: teddy

Well okay but IC was totally different because see this time they made it real meaningful, by killing the Flash and Superman's teenage sideki- oh, wait, no.

I don't think he knew that this would lead to a "Civil War", he was just a greedy bastard doing stuff so that they would get more contracts. Unknowingly, his manipulation was the straw that broke the camel's back. I don't know if it would be fruitful for him that the heroes are government employees and have to make amends for whatever damage they do instead of them being private citizens that use their services when needed. If the gov. starts using some of their "own people" for services instead it would be at a loss for Damage Control.

One is an homage, the other is a rip-off. Pretty obvious.

That said, I did enjoy the Wolverine arc quite a bit.

No, not obvious, its non-existant.

Extremely, similar plot devices doesnt equal rip-off. OMG! Annihilation is ripping off Rann-Thangar War because its in Space!

No, same thing. Ok, then ill use your weak argument. Civil War is an homage to Infinite Crisis/COIE. There, I can do it too.

Well, DC is a different company from Marvel, so it's a rip off. The entire EVENT is not a rip-off, but that aspect certainly smacks of it.

Because evil businessman/secret agents turning into homicidal maniacs is an aspect only brought on by Infinite Crisis and was completely original when they used it?:whatever:

Furthermore, from what ive recollected the whole point of the Wolverine arc was to present a parallel/metaphoric depiction of shady corporations ala Halliburton that are profiting off the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq at the costs of many american lives. So the whole rip-off argument is moot.

I'm surprised no one's asked who's Wolferine yet...
