Shaft Reboot

It would be nice if someone could get a good grip on shaft

It looks more comedic than I expected and doesn't seem like it had a big budget for the action, but it does look like it might well be entertaining.

May be a sleeper hit. I just noticed Kenya Barris, the creator of Blackish wrote this one. Makes sense.

It would have been more interesting if they had made Shaft Jr a daughter. Could have played with expectations with how a female Shaft would have treated men.

Man this looks like straight trash IMO. If I still see it it will solely be for Sam Jackson and Richard Roundtree, because every comedic bit with Jessie T. Usher was groan inducing. I had a feeling he was a bad choice for this and it looks like I was right.

If anything, blame Tim Story.

Though I actually like the more spoof-comedy route they’re going.

I mean, they could go ultra serious Shaft reboot ala Casino Royals, but I prefer this sequel route.

I guess it’d be a fool’s hope for zombie Christian Bale back in a cameo.

Why did young Shaft call the elder one "grandpa"? Isn't he his great-uncle?
Probably the same reason people call some of their elders Uncle or Aunty when they’re not related to them in that way.

Dumb fun. I kinda dig it.

This looks stupid. I woulda been down for this had this been a straight up badass Sam Jackson/Roundtree team up but this Resurgence kid completely kills the vibe of the movie and his slapstick comedy seems like it belongs in a different movie.

It's funny because he's a millennial sjw type while they're a product of a different time. Har har.

I’m not really familiar with Shaft, but I think this looks like it could be fun. Going to have to check the others out when I get a chance.

He's a BAD MUTHA....

SHUT YOUR MOUTH

Looks a bit too much like a pg movie...but im not ashamed to say that i laughed and found the trailer interesting.
But i do think it will turn out pretty generic, which would be a shame for a Shaft movie.

I think I fell in love with Alexandra Shipp.

He's a terrible actor. He also sucked in Independence Day: Resurgence.
